Honestly, a build I'm working on is full silverwind, with grimclaw Sns, and hopefully I can get a charm with chain crit. My thought, based on my calcs, would be a 310 raw weapon with purple and 10% natural affinity get the 30% affinity boost from silverwind soul, another 30% from either Affinity oil or chaos oil depending on preference, and finally the last 30% from chain crit from doing the sns hunter art Swords dance. Then factoring in the crit boost from the armor, and you have a weapon with an effective raw of 603. Not bad for SNS.

Dashing mid air, aiming, doing air combos ending with a downward spin slash in world.... none of that in GU

I had tons of fun swinging around with wirebugs. And i hope if we do get a nother more arcade style monster hunter game after wilds that the wirebugs will returns. I feel like it has lots of potential for making even more crazy hunts that play out like primordial malzeno and amatsu hunts. If rise was a test run for how to make hunts with more mobile hunter than what will a spiritual sequel be like. By that point the monsters will probably be able to more closely match the hunter increased mobility.

I've been a Lance main since tri and I still learned something today. I also agree that evasion Lance just didn't feel right, but I still used it. I was just one of those weirdos that sacrificed damage for guard and evasion.

Counters are amazing and interactive and reward you for knowing the moveset, the mosnter, your weapon, the combat is better. If you don't want to used them just dont, they're not automatic so why are you not happy? If you are too stubborn for not wanting the game to evolve as it should then dont play it like they want you to just get smacked for 30 minutos of the hunt and enjoy not playing.

Honestly, Rajang is probably my favorite fight in world as I personally had fun getting my teeth knocked in by a chimp on steroids as it was all about the positioning to hit him mid-attack

Personally, I really like World's Rajang way more than old-gen Rajang (or, at least 4U and GU Rajang, since I haven't played anything before that). I mained Great Sword, and I know Rajang is so much harder in World compared to those games, but I just found old-gen Rajang way too exploitable. It was meant to be a glass cannon, but I think it just went too far with how exploitable and scriptable the encounter could become after just a few attempts. With World's Rajang, it felt like the low monster health was compensated by not having as much access to ripe hitzones and constant aggression. Also, monsters had way more downtime in World, so it was pretty viable to knock Rajang out of his rampage mode and get good damage by whaling on his head. The body hitzones aren't great, but the fact that cutting his tail knocks him out of rampage mode. The difficulty of hitting doesn't make him not a glass cannon, I think it just adjusts the hunter's priorities in a positive way, in my opinion.

Imagine a game like 3u with current gen weapon combos, underwater combat, slinger (with clutch, but with no monster armor to shred), palamutes, and more pouch based items (traps, upgradable boomerangs, flutes, etc). That's my ideal monhun game mechanically. Story wise I'd want something centered around the ancient civilization, and not repeating their mistakes. Bring back the over the top, outlandish lore that makes the vocal minority of hunters winge about it. Map wise, I'd want something of a mix between rise and world. I like how rise basically only had a few invisible walls around the edges, and a few places that would outright kill you, but the rest of the map was fair game. I like how big world's design was, and how there was a lot of good endemic life, plants, and just environmental variety. Mix these together and it would be my favorite game in the series.
