Real reason Akaza hates Douma is because he exclusively eats women, Akaza only kills men and only devours the strong ones. You’ll notice that after Douma explains how he’s using his vase to store a womans head Akaza’s head vein pops out in anger.

Not a spoiler, but answering your questions: Tanjiro explained that his dad was sick, from flashbacks we even saw how skinny his dad looked. He passed away due to his illness. Also 14:17 (if you payed attention) Akaza’s pissed, because Doma became a demon AFTER him and got promoted higher than him. Doma was shown as previous Upper Moon 6 end of S2 last ep. and now he’s 2. Akaza is still 3 even though he got promoted BEFORE Doma. 12:33 Doma: Even if he were to challenge us, Lord Akaza could never beat us. And in my case since I became a demon after Lord Akaza yet promoted before him, I’d be angry too, if I were in his shoes. ⬅️ I mean he was very clear..

Tanjiro dad ( Name - Tanjuro Kamado) never hold a nichirin sword in his life and he was not a demon slayer . He was just a charcoal seller who lived in the mountain and died of a disease/curse just 5-6 yrs ago .
