The main problem with King Kong is that, due its size, it couldn't walk or even stay on its legs, with that gorilla like proportions... Gigantic animals have to adapt specical body shapes just to win gravity.

A really enjoyable watch! I really liked how in-depth you went for how Kong could survive the different eras of the Mesozoic, the mental image I had of him grabbing an adult Placerias before biting it's torso off was funny if not a bit sad when you explained him eating some other animals from that area lol The grounded approach to his interactions with other dinosaurs was also nice I think it would of been a bit silly or something if he had just climbed up the back of say a Brachiosaurus to throttle it before doing some WWE wrestling move on it Obviously the favourite part was his interaction with T.rex, such an iconic fight although in this scenario I can almost imagine Kong trying to eliminate any lone young T.rex he could find if they wandered into his territory so he could take out a potential future threat early. Regarding his loneliness I had been thinking maybe he could try to form some sort of a symbiotic relationship with a herd of Triceratops or Edmontosaurus annectens? Helping them scare off T.rex in exchange for food they're grazing from or simply just the company of another creature that's not trying to eat him for a change. Not sure if the Triceratops or Edmontosaurus would be intelligent enough to understand that but I thought it'd at least be something for Kong to have something so he's not alone A great video once again, I can't wait to see what you'll do next! :) I am curious now though if Kong could defend himself from some of the largest Carcharodontosaurids seeing as T.rex had it's chance

The V-Rexs were definitely not inbred and you can read official information on them to see that they were apex predators on skull Island

If skull island is close to Sumatra and Kong’s species had a common ancestry with Gigantopithecus, then why do they look almost identical to African Gorillas?? Shouldn’t he look more orangutan like??
@dondragmer241214 сағат бұрын
How would a silverback gorilla end up on an island in the Indian Ocean anyway. Did immigrants from central or east Africa have brought his ancestors to Skull Island by boat? And large creatures isolated on a tiny island tend to shrink, not grow larger. Small creatures tend to grow larger. Look at the stranded mammoths like the Cyprus dwarf elephant and the Flores Island of Indonesia, as well as Homo florensis of the latter island, which shrank to "hobbit" size. Maybe Kong should be descended from pet gibbons that were brought to Skull Island by immigrants from southeast Asia.

Skull Island is not that close to Sumatra. The map shows it as south and west of Sri Lanka, off the southeast coast of India. I've seen another map that shows it directly south. I always thought it should be about midway between Sumatra and Sri Lanka; that would put it closer to Sumatra.

Even the 1933 Kong was way too big to be realistic. I would say the top size an anthropoid ape could get would be about 12 ft tall (like Son of Kong), and a weight of maybe two tons. And Kong as depicted in that film, for dramatic reasons, varied from 24 to about 40 ft. He never looked only 18 ft tall on his island, as the movie notes say. All the dinosaurs were at least double their real size.

@dondragmer241214 сағат бұрын
My favorite is original 1933 King Kong. Kong's scientific name should be Megapithecus rex. 2005 Kong seems to be 25 ft tall in a quadrupedal pose. In bipedal pose he would be 35-40 ft. Estimating his weight at say, from a 38 ft height, would, according to the cube law relative to height would give him a weight of about 134 tons. At that weight he would be slow as slug, not to mention his bones breaking, not able to get enough oxygen to his body, and a whole host of other physiological handicaps coming with that size. And forget about Kong Skull Island with Kong at 108 fit and Kong vs Godzilla at 350 ft.

Female, old, sick and Young Individuals are the usual leopard victims most Leopards even large males won't attack a full grown Silverback on high alert or charging in unless the Silverback was caught off guard like that one leopard killing and adult Silverback while it's sleeping.

I really liked the video! there are just some things, small ones There are easy ways to calculate Kong's weight using a silverback gorilla as a reference. (after all it is the animal on which it is based) Through the cubic square law, Kong would not go below 20 tons. Something similar with the V-rex, both would not drop below more than 20 tons. Second, through the same process but based on the skull of a V.Rex, a bite force of these can be estimated. According to what I saw, Kong needed to apply more than 100 Tons of force to be able to break the jaw of a V. Rex. Not to mention that Kong himself can withstand the impact of a mortar almost completely, no real animal could do that.

Kong taking on 3 v-rexes basically means not a single theropod by itself has a chance. Those were clearly very sizeable dinosaurs, so it wouldnt even matter if the t-rex is larger. Numbers are almost always better than just being bigger, and so I just don't see the t-rex surviving an encounter with 3 v-rexes.

@Togepyy18 сағат бұрын
He probably wouldn’t have been as closely related to the gicantopithecus in that sense, as the gigantopithecus was a primitive and basal genus of the family that includes the extant orangutans. If King Kong did exist , he would most likely be a direct descendant of early gorilla like apes. I get why people would consider King Kong to be a descendant of the gigantipithecus, because they are both very large, but they are evolutionary unique and belong to entirely different families ( I know King Kong is fictional and I’m basing this off of what we know about him)

Could Kong somehow survive the K-Pg extinction event? He's certainly smart enough to realize that something would be very wrong with the world at that point, maybe take cover during the initial impact event and not die right then, but idk about afterwards.
