Just picked up this model amazingly at Goodwill for only $50 because they probably didn't know what it was. Has some filament still in the cartridge so will run the test print to see if it needs repair since it was at Goodwill but when I plugged it in to test it checked the level and was good. Am hoping it can increase bed size to around 10 or 11 inches for the X and Y since Z is pretty much fixed being enclosed. Very clean looking so hoping it works it would be an awesome self Christmas present this year.

I have a few problems concerning your build. First is your screws of your bed. They are hanging loose in the frame? So the bed can wobble? They have to be tight on the spring tension so the bed can not wobble. Then there is the problem with feedrate. Change your extruder to one that has a better tension to filament. When you speed up the speed and get bad extrusion means your extruder can not handle the amount it needs. ( and maybe upscale hotend temp) Retraction is a good start to dial it in the right way. When i was building my hypercube i was sure to keep the bed tight, the retraction dialed in right and a good extrusion. Mine works like a charme. No blobs or strings or elephantfoot or under extrusion. Sometimes even better then my Ender 3. So keep up the good work and hopefully the next time a video with some major approvements.

i WAS having the same problem but what i did was.....i removed that piece of crap useless plastic case and tossed it in the trash. THEM all i did was....I used a piece of brass tubing and ran it through a rubber gromet that came with the machine. but FIRST i placed the rubber gromet into the hole where the filament slides through and super glued it into place it wont move ...trust me. then i slid the brass tubing through the rubber gromet all the way down to the aluminum guide tube. NOW every single time i change filament it the filament is guide ALLLLLLLL the way through without missing a beat. the problem i was having was....i would feed my filament into the guide tube and it would POP out through the SNAP casing for the print head and MISS feeding itself into the extruder. NOW...it works PERFECT. PLUS nothing moves. on the other end of the brass tube i attached that pfe snap fit tube and then the other guide tube into the pfe snap fit small tube. i know it may sound confusing....but a small brass tube works wonders to feed the filament perfectly through to the extruder head so the filament never misses where it is suppose to go. THANK you for the video...your way works great to. but as the old saying goes....THERES more than one way to skin a cat. take care. john from kansas.

Excellent video and very neat compact design for sure. I love it and will try it out on my Prusa MK3. One thing maybe to think about for the future is to somehow bind 7 packs together to make a 24 volt combined pack as it seems more efficient then a 12 volt setup. Maybe 2 plates as a harness with long bolts to hold the packs together. I am trying to build a portable case rather then a power wall inside as you said nobody wants to burn their house down.

Once you set it up the first time (may not need to level bed), you can just plug in and print, simple. The biggest issue I have had is keeping the part on the bed and my solution: Hairspray! I use the tape on the bed that they provided and then squirt the area the part will be printed with a little hairspray to help it stick. Usually the second and 3rd thing I print don't have this issue, which makes me think that possibly the temp is not measured, but assumed based on heating time??

A good cheap control board option is the makerbase e3d Robin 32 bit. Cost is around $20 for the board with quiet tmc2209 steppers and extra support for sensors. Well worth the price, 8 bit boards simply can't do detailed prints well at high speeds since corexy printers require a lot more calculations compared to regular cartesian printers.

I'll have to take a close look at it.... On first sight it looks simular... But then again it doesn't.... I'll get back to you on that
@DroneNewb4 жыл бұрын
The voron is a very high end machine that costs at least 3 times more than the hypercube evolution to build. I have built both. The hypercube is really good value for print quality, with almost no ringing on prints. The main difference is the voron uses 7 linear rails, which alone can cost as much as an entire hypercube evolution build. If I were to build another one, I would probably build a hypercube because it's cost effective and prints almost perfectly. Design wise, the voron does indeed look very cool and looks more "professional", but I don't think the extra cost is really worth it and it is a lot harder to build. Hope this information helps 🙃. If you questions about anything related to 3d printing, I would be more than happy to help!
