How reverend and extremely well done Rufus. Thank you for being so respectful to this great man, who I personally think was judged to quickly by a lot of people. His style was indeed ground breaking and what a lovely tribute to a man who in my mind was a game changer and did not until his death get the respect of his revolutionary attitude to life and his ultimate profession.

❤ this upload but the photos purporting to be Abberline there is a police photo and there standing in the front is two men that others are also claiming to be him and you have put one of those men up. but there is another man in same photo that I think is Frederick Abberline, the name of website is called Historical Sherlock. Abberline I read wasn’t fond of being the centre of attention. I think that website just MIGHT have him on camera.

My father William Henry (Harry ) Finlayson joined the Royal Tank Corps (as it was then) in 1934. Clouds Hill was in a wooded area prone to forest fires. If a fire broke out troopers from the nearby Bovington camp would be sent to fight it. On such an occasion Harry was one of the fire party and had to go to Clouds Hill and ask Laurence if they could use the water from his 'swimming pool' - in practice a large water tank over the road which Laurence used to swim in. At the time Laurence was in the Tank Corps based at Bovington as an admin officer, a little unassuming man he described him as. Harry went on to see distinguished military service on the North West Frontier, France and North Africa. He was taken prisoner and spent four years in prison camps, including Auschwitz. He passed in 2013 aged 98. Last year I visited Clouds Hill and Bovington Tank Museum, a world class venue. I saw the David Lean film aged 10 and read Seven Pillars of Wisdom at 14, Laurence has been a lifelong interest. Thanks for producing this video and reminding us.

If you visit Cloud's Hill be sure also to visit the Anglo Saxon St. Martin's Church at Wareham. There you will find a beautiful life-size effigy of Lawrence in splendid Arab dress carved by his good friend the artist Eric Kennington....Excellent video, by the way.

It is something of an irony that the neo-pagans are hanging tokens on two yew trees that marked the entrance to the Christian churchyard. There are a line of a further 8 yews (2 fallen) leading away from the entrance towards the the River Allen and in the direction of the lost medieval village - marking the way up to the church. The planting of yew trees in and around churchyards during the medieval period was common practice. And, just like Stonehenge, what relevance has this site to the neo-Druids?

I grew up within eyesight of this place. Used to muck around it all the time . One halloween when we were 12 or 13 a group of riends and i went up there to stay the night. At about 3 in the morning we were playing cards in the belltower when who should turn up... A car load of goths from wimborne, all white faced makeup and everything. They proceeded to call us weird for playing cards there and said we were being disrespectful to the spirits. Kinda makes me smile to see the place still attracting goofballs. :)

Seeing the film Lawrence of Arabia in 1964, introduced me to the idea of ruthless determination to achieve his end for his Arab colleagues. That characteristic has carried me through the rest of my life! I was simply inspired. I have since, read all the books by and about him. Thank you for sharing. Next summer, I shall visit Clouds Hill and his grave!

The road from Bovington Army Camp to the crossroads just past Lawrences house was 'straightened' as the Americans eeded to park up hundreds of different types of vehicles that would be taking part in the D Day invasion. The road was very bendy and windy, by straightening it they were able to park many more vehicles, and it was much safer for vehicles to travel along it.

Nothing has changed in politics in almost 100 years, lies are the order of the day and the population is kept under the thumb by elites who supposedly have your best interests at heart, bastards are all politicians all over the world, bastards who E.T. Lawrence also cheated, respect for Mr. Lawrence. 💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻💯👍🏻

I wonder what happened to his son and daughters. Harry Selfridge was an amazing person who lost his way when his wife and mother died. They were his guiding lights. RIP Harry. It seems he needs a bigger gravestone and monument. Someone should start a go fund me or something to really honour him.

Sad to see the area in its current state compared to the clips from the series, especially that wide arrival shot. Security fences, unkempt green spaces and the centre itself looks appalling. :disengage sad old git mode:
