That was a nice thing to do, cleaning his headstone. I'm sure He won't mind. For one who died so young, He had an impressive CV. I read that He was rarely out of work and I can quite believe it! The mark of a good actor is to make every role and even every line, natural and credible and that, together with his presence, was what made Neil McCarthy memorable.

My sister lives near Fordingbridge and I will visit the cemetery on my next visit. Ignore the key board warriors - if they don’t like what you do why don’t they just move on. I just found you recently and enjoyed the content - very good keep it up.

He was one of those actors that you remembered once you saw him. Very distinctive. I enjoyed his work. He played his roles well. My best recollection of him was Steptoe and Son Ride Again. He died far too young.

As for the whinging warriors, what have they done to clean his grave up. Thank you. I’m sure Mr O’Neil is grateful.

Can anyone remember a programme or film which had a recurring theme where someone (Neil?) chased a child while wearing gumboots & with a sinister laugh in a west country accent? I was about 10 years old when I saw it but can't remember what it was. I thought it was 'HR Puff-n-stuff' from 1970 or thereabouts (the child would have been Jack Wild if 'yes') but when I saw that recently there was no mention of Neil or a character acting as described. I'm just curious as i'm fairly sure it was Neil & was about the same time as when he appeared in Catweasel.
