It's great quality, but a little pricey. Another good budget option when just starting out to improve your audio is a "Rode Video Micro". It will drastically improve your internal audio from whichever device you're recording from as long as there is a 3.5mm jack to plug the mic in. You can pick them up for about $70

Hey great video! I have bought g80 (should be the same according to market) and you just prove that the quality of the camera is amazing :) I have watched so many videos regarding settings, how to set shutter speed etc for the best quality so I somehow manage to shoot a moderate quality videos in 4k30p but I am struggling with 4k24p and I dont know why, the shoots seems to be laggy. Is there any hidden settings I missed? I also cannot find the ISO increments in the menu, is there any update or g80/g85 is different? Thanks for help!
@Passion_Video_and_PhotoАй бұрын
Does the framerate of the timeline match the framerate of the video? If you're filming in 4k24p your timeline should be 24p. If it's not the same, you can miss frames which might be causing the effect you mentioned...

Great topic. I have been looking at this sort of thing for a long time. I have DaVinci as well. I am also want to get a screen calibrator so I can ultimately make sure the colors I am seeing while looking at my monitor are close as possible to what they should be. So Idk which unit/color target to get now so that I can add the screen calibration as finances allow. I really like your applied logic to make a decision. I will have to start looking soon. Thanks for sharing Mike .
@Passion_Video_and_Photo2 ай бұрын
You're welcome Bill! Thanks for watching & sharing your thoughts. I need to eventually get a screen calibrator too, but having the color chart is a step in the right direction. The Datacolor company makes screen calibrators as well. They go for upwards of $250 - $300. So it's a little bit of an investment. At least with the color charts applied to the footage, it's giving the correct colors as a starting base for the grade 🎨

Hello, I have a gh5/14-140 combo. I am thinking about the leica 12-60 2.8-4.0. My question is about your AFC performance/experience with this lens, also how does the AF follows when zooming. My gripes with the 14-140 are sticky zoomring and weak in following zoom in AF. Thank you for your reply, Frans/Bali
@Passion_Video_and_Photo3 ай бұрын
Hi Frans, I haven't tried testing the AFC performance when zooming. I mainly shoot with the lens in manual as the autofocus on the Gh5 isn't fully reliable. It's always pulsing and hunting for things in the background (with my experience using it). I've heard of people getting better results with the autofocus using the Panasonic 35-100mm (watching KZbin reviews), although I haven't had the chance to see for myself. If I could go back and change time, I would have got the Panasonic Leica 35-100mm instead of the Leica 12-60, as it has a constant aperture of f/2.8, and doesn't stop down as I zoom in on the lens like it does with the 12-60mm. I hope this info helps you in your decision 🙏

Thanks for your continued content about the G85! I bought mine in 2021 and still love it! I bought it initially to boost the quality of my KZbin videos, but soon discovered that I also love photography. I'm using the Pana stock lens 12-60mm, Pana vario 45-150mm and Laowa 7.5mm lenses. I love the 150mm for nature shots and I'm using the Laowa ultra wide mainly for video of my synths as it allows me to position the camera quite close and next to my face so I don't have to shove my head into the frame when I'm fiddling with the synths. As far as mirrorless goes I think I'll keep it and will only upgrade my video game when I buy a new mobile phone, eg. Apple 15 pro or Samsung S24.

You're welcome The 5th Volt! That's one lens I forgot to mention, the Laowa 7.5mm. It does do a great job for using in tight spaces, also it being rectilinear helps me keep the outer vertical lines straight, where with other super wide lenses, I got warped lines at the outside edges. Great little lens, and worth every dollar! Ya, the cellphone cameras are becoming extremely good! I like your idea and think it's a smart move. I haven't tried the Pana vario 45-150mm, but I would assume that the compression you get at 150 would look great. Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your thoughts & experience 🤜🤛
