nice video on the G85... and by the way.. Wow nice hoodie looks great.. please make a video on the G9
@Mike_Mandigo8 ай бұрын
Thx Ravebrave! I don't own the G9, so I don't have any knowledge to base a video on. As for the hoodie, I tried a new supplier out, so it's cool to hear some positive feedback on that 🙌

Thanks for your continued content about the G85! I bought mine in 2021 and still love it! I bought it initially to boost the quality of my KZbin videos, but soon discovered that I also love photography. I'm using the Pana stock lens 12-60mm, Pana vario 45-150mm and Laowa 7.5mm lenses. I love the 150mm for nature shots and I'm using the Laowa ultra wide mainly for video of my synths as it allows me to position the camera quite close and next to my face so I don't have to shove my head into the frame when I'm fiddling with the synths. As far as mirrorless goes I think I'll keep it and will only upgrade my video game when I buy a new mobile phone, eg. Apple 15 pro or Samsung S24.

You're welcome The 5th Volt! That's one lens I forgot to mention, the Laowa 7.5mm. It does do a great job for using in tight spaces, also it being rectilinear helps me keep the outer vertical lines straight, where with other super wide lenses, I got warped lines at the outside edges. Great little lens, and worth every dollar! Ya, the cellphone cameras are becoming extremely good! I like your idea and think it's a smart move. I haven't tried the Pana vario 45-150mm, but I would assume that the compression you get at 150 would look great. Thanks for checking out the video and sharing your thoughts & experience 🤜🤛

Do you use the auto-focus or do you film your videos with manual exposure?
@The5thVolt8 ай бұрын
@@Mike_Mandigo autofocus is not that great on the G85 so for my videos I always use manual focus (love the focus peaking!) My videos are usually of static things so it's no big deal.
@Mike_Mandigo8 ай бұрын
@@The5thVolt good choice. I actually like static shots over motion shots. I feel like I compose better. And I agree bro, the focus peaking is a great 👌

Very NICE video on the G85, Mike. I love these feature rich Lumix cameras. I almost bought the G85 recently; the only reason I didn't was that I already have the Legendary Lumix G7 and in December 2023 I bought the Lumix G95, I use them mainly for shooting podcasts, talking head content, and sometimes vlogging.

@@aDDmoreJuiceTV Thanks. I haven’t had a chance to try the G7 or G95. Those are both solid choices from what I heard here on KZbin . I read good things about them in the comments some times. Do u like to use primes or zoom, or speed booster with adaptive lenses?

@@aDDmoreJuiceTV btw I took a Quick Look at your channel. I don’t follow politics that much, but great job on growing your channel past 60k and counting I respect your commitment, effort, persistence and dedication. It’s inspiring 💯

I just purchased this camera. Building out my lenses now. Going to start with the 25mm f1.7 prime. I'll add the variable ND to that eventually. Looking forward to seeing how this works out. Nice video, thanks for sharing!
@Mike_Mandigo5 ай бұрын
That's great news! The 25mm f/1.7 prime & G85 is a great combo you have there. There's a company called Gobe that makes some decent ND filters for a fair price. Have fun with your new setup. Thanks for watching! 😁😁

Thanks a lot! I ordered a K&F concept variable ND filter. It's supposed to arrive tomorrow. Hoping for the best!

@@Sarahlee52106 I haven't tried them, but I've heard about their blackmist filter from a KZbinr I follow. He said the quality was great and he was pleasantly enjoying his K&F Concept filter. You made a good choice! Sorry for the late response 😥, I don't know if I overlooked comment by accident or if KZbin didn't give a notification 🤷♂

Interested in starting filmmaking as with high quality results for minimal low cost… Looking into older cams like GH4 and this one

@@Mike_Mandigo I like that g85 has stabilization but there’s a gh4 on my local craigslist for $400 with lens and shotgun mic

Could you please do a video about your camera and lenses storage? I'm currently wrapping my G85 and wide angle lens in some of my old t-shirts and stuffing them in my regular backpack. I liked that case with the cushioned dividers. Hopefully I can make my own without buying the expensive name brand version.
@Mike_Mandigo4 ай бұрын
Ya the namebrand Trekpak is pricey for sure. I made mine as a DIY project last summer with some supplies from Michael's Craft Store. I liked the idea you mentioned about making a video on gear storage. I'll put together some ideas and come up with a video on that soon. Thanks for the cool idea! 😎

Any recommendations for a super wide angle lense?
@Mike_MandigoАй бұрын
@@Kyle5K yes. The Laowa 7.5mm is great. It will give u a 15mm full frame equivalent if you’re interested in knowing that. Its lowest aperture is f/2. It has a really close focusing distance and it’s pretty decent at keeping vertical lines straight towards the outer edges. A little pricey but worth it for the quality imo. Once u try it, u won’t regret spending your money if u get it 📸 Let me know what choice u end up going with when u decide. Thanks for watching Kyle5K 💎

Hey great video! I have bought g80 (should be the same according to market) and you just prove that the quality of the camera is amazing :) I have watched so many videos regarding settings, how to set shutter speed etc for the best quality so I somehow manage to shoot a moderate quality videos in 4k30p but I am struggling with 4k24p and I dont know why, the shoots seems to be laggy. Is there any hidden settings I missed? I also cannot find the ISO increments in the menu, is there any update or g80/g85 is different? Thanks for help!
@Mike_Mandigo6 ай бұрын
Does the framerate of the timeline match the framerate of the video? If you're filming in 4k24p your timeline should be 24p. If it's not the same, you can miss frames which might be causing the effect you mentioned...
@ordinarylife89776 ай бұрын
@@Mike_Mandigo thanks for tip. Timeline is matching. I see it laggy even in the playback on the camera. Maybe I expect too much as I am not shooting static shoots and I need to focus more on stabilization when I am shooting or settings on camera :/
