When you removed the smog/air pump did you have to do anything else? Like what did you do with the tubes that were connected to it?

All tubes were disconnected. I left in the vacuum switches plugged in. New heads didn’t have the egr holes to plug, but that and the exhaust needs plugged.

That has lived in The Rust Belt, holy hell. I drove one of these around Australia in the late 70's, didn't miss a beat. 250 straight 6 power plant.

Hey! I just put images of the boxes with the part numbers later in the video, the belt was ACDelco #6k975 and the pulley was ACDelco #38009

Did the same thing but couldnt get 97inch belt on for nothing way too small, i did get the 97.5 belt on but squeals very loud on startup then goes away, squeaks afain sometimes when headlights go on, any suggestions,? Thanks in advance

Squeaking when lights come on is from alternator draw, my guess is the belt is slightly too loose or the tensioner is not working right

What did you use to remove the torx bolt on the upper intake? Have a 302 project of my own.

I believe it was a t40 sized torx bit. I just welded it on the end of a long steel rod and used vice grips to loosen it. Could also use long bit extensions if you have those

@@Backyardwrenching1243 thanks! Any idea of how to remove the distributor if motor is seized? *keeper bolt is removed* distributor will not budge with penetrating lube, heat or minimal force.

@@HPruitt92 it’s likely just stuck in from corrosion and age. It just pulls straight out, it may take some force.

my mhz is locked even when when i set my curve to 1850 it wont go past 1695 do you think this will fix it by any chance?

If it just won't go past 1695, the voltage supply likely just isn't able to get the voltage high enough to boost it higher.
