The exact same thing happened to my h3. No doubt its a manufacturing issue

Do the shocks then need to be replaced as well due to the extra height?
@simcoespring16 күн бұрын
They will easily work with stock shocks. Once you go past 2" of lift... you have to be careful.

Good way to loose the warranty…
@patrickezuma714018 күн бұрын
The dealer has to prove that the modification is what caused the failure. Now usually with something like this it's probably not hard to do but you never know. I installed a full 6" lift kit on my truck with bigger tires and still had warranty work done
@danokerr992918 күн бұрын
@ I denied 3 different trucks with leveling kits for rear differential rebuilds because of these kits. I don’t understand why anyone would use a Toyota for work in the first place. Asians don’t do real work anyways.

not much. Either you can have us fabricate an extra leaf in our shop (my design) or Timbren SES kit for the rear.

Please, for the sake of maintaining that awesome anvil of yours, don't heat things up on top of your horn! You're going to completely ruin it. You'll soften up that steel, and every time you hit something on it it'll leave knicks/indentations. I'm guessing you or someone you associate with spent a pretty penny on that thing, and it's clearly very clean currently. It'd be a shame to see it ruined. Also as far as hammer control is concerned. Slow down and go for accuracy over power. Power will come from repetition. Idk if you're an aspiring smith or not, but investing in a light weight 2lb-3lb cross peen hammer will help tremendously for this type of work. That ball peen is a bit light for that job. Especially for someone who needs a bit more practice. A slightly larger head makes for easier aiming, and thus an easier time on you. Anyway sorry for the ted talk, but I'd rather try to give you real feedback than treat you like a total idiot.

Those serations on the bushing help with bolt removal later when the bolts are rusty. You tighten them before loosening and if theres a small ammount of binding it will allow the bolt to turn inside the bushing.

I use to do this for a living on a much larger scale. Running heat treat lines, mandrels, shot peen, hardness testing painting and assembly

I build custom backyard leaf packs. I actually just redid my 1979 c30 wrecker. I went from a 10 leaf pack to 12 leaf and elimated the overloads. Perfect. I used a mis matched hodge podge of used springs from 2 different trucks. One thing that comes to my mind watching ur vids is what my long dead teacher taught me. Flip the spring arch up and give it a sharp whack with the hammer. It dont break..its good to re user. If it breaks...so be it. You probaly saved the customer future downtime by breaking a few extra springs lol

Chicago Pneumatic looks like a model CP4281, however the trigger is different. Not sure if it changed since I purchased the tool. I use them because they are small and fit in small spots. They are also cheap/disposable.

Scott and Mike, good job! Scott, I had to cringe when you put your fingers into the hanger to check the alignment, if it happened to be stuck and snapped into place, it would have been a bad day. I learned that lesson many years ago, fortunately, it didn't hurt me, but could very well have. Be safe out there!
