Just ordered my set yesterday to Indiana. Can't wait to get em and support these Craftsman.

How come you do not put antiseize on the bolt to make them easier to remove later?

Just ordered this kit to South Eastern Ontario. Install in the next week. Looks like a well thought out assembly. 1-3/4” will be perfect. Will revisit after installation. Thanks for coming up with this idea. Other spring places wanted to remove all and start from scratch. 🤷♂️🧐 This I can install myself…

Any harshness added to the ride? Cant imagine it would be much different than the factory multi steel setup some trucks have?
@Benjamin06267485 Жыл бұрын
That block is there from the factory because is a 4 x 4. 4x2 don’t have that block on the leaf spring.

Do a kit for for a 2017 with a Repair spring and a add a left with center bolts and u bolts.

Bought this kit but on the plastic bushings that those helpers bring they make lots of squeaking noises ..even though of putting tons of grease..seems that the material of the round plastic bushings on each side are cheaply made

Plastic springs? I can see a future recall in the making! No doubt this was done to shave a few more pounds of weight to meet EPA requirements now. Ford will worry about the outcome later on.

the leaf weighed about 2 lbs, so deceptively light.

This is totally off topic but, I remember when you changed out some Mack camelback springs. Just looking at them, those thing cannot have any flex to them at all. Can't even call them springs, IMO. I got an idea. Can your 100 ton press flatten a Mack camelback spring? Or, at least, make it deflect significantly?
@simcoespring Жыл бұрын
it can arch individual leaves, probably break them if I was brave/stupid enough to attempt it. You can make those leaves flex, however it is a 60,000 lbs capacity suspension, if that gives you an idea on how much weight it takes to flex those springs.

Just visited your website. Springs for Ford (or Chevy for that matter) don't even seem to be offered. Odd

I have a question a bit different then what your video is about. I have a F150 with the same leaf spring setup. I want to lower it in the back but just removing the block isn’t enough. Could the composite leaf be removed also and just use the single leaf? I know the load capacity would be reduced but I’m not using it to haul anything (sport truck)
@simcoespring9 ай бұрын
this is a complex question i'm not sure I have an answer to. Check out some lowering shackles. I would rather use that then remove the helper leaf.
@jamievanacker25069 ай бұрын
@@simcoespring I already did that and I need more drop them that. Those composite leafs will give me another 1-1/8” - 1-1/4” of drop if they are removed.

I have a 4inch bds lift kit (4" block in rear) will this still work on my truck (21 f150 4x4 xl 2 leaf) or will I need different center bolts and u bolts?
@simcoespring Жыл бұрын
you would need a different set of U bolts.....longer ones. We can manufacturer them here and send them in the kit if you want to give me the length you need. The center bolts should be the same length, as the block should just be set between the leaf spring and the axle seat.

What does this kit do for your truck exactly? And how good or bad is new setup on newer f150 stock?
@simcoespring Жыл бұрын
it will give you about 700lbs more caring capacity and raise the rear of the vehicle by about 1.5" (at the rear wheels)
@kevinanglin678 Жыл бұрын
@simcoespring did this make the truck ride more rough over stock?

@@simcoespring What's the exact math with respect to GVWR and GAWR (rear). Out of factory, isn't the rated payload capacity (on the sticker) taking the GVWR - curb-weight? So how does adding the extra leaf spring change that math up? Or is the leaf-spring to help the back-end from bottoming-out at higher payloads, even though the total weight will be over the GVWR and GAWR? Thanks in advance.

Ford's better idea.

If you had one of those induction heaters to heat up the nuts on the center bolts. I'm glad I don't want to buy an F150.
