I love this scene, but I still feel like there was a better way to end than with zipping up the body bag. I get why they'd choose that to show the harsh reality, but I can't help thinking there was a better way, maybe by flashing back and forth between reality and his death experience.

The ending with him gliding down the hallway towards the angel of death always gives me goosebumps. I rewind that part at least five times for every time I watch this. This whole scene never gets old along with the "everything old is new again" dance scene. I've watched each at least a hundred times and I'll always be back for more. Rest easy and in peace Bob Fosse, Roy Scheider and Ann Reinking among others.

So many of Fosse's quintessential dancers here. Kathryn Dobry (his real life dance captain and the dancer on the left), Ben Vereen, and of course, the incomparable Ann Reinking. The only dancer more Fosse than them would be Gwen Verdon herself. SHE is the ultimate Fosse dancer and always will be. SHE is the one who literally gave Fosse his style and panache. Yes, he had his own style before her but once he and she combined their talents and skills, she taught Fosse SO much about dancing and she was able to translate what was in his head to what dancers did on stage. You could almost say that "Fosse" was actually "Verdon" in a way. He owed Gwen Verdon SO much of his choreography and style.
