i am a young western rider and one day while i was saddling up i cut my my foot on steel and my best friend who was also riding with me wraped up my foot and we went riding one week later i fuond out i shouldv gotten stiches i was on crutchs for three weeks horse riding is not easy

I hate people who use horses as sports equipment. What a shame. Poor horse, had to win too much for the man who is addicted to recognition. And one did not notice that it is simply too much for the animal, very sad. When does this stop?

Only a true equestrian knows the secret of being one with another, the horse. The hours spent together to form that special bond. To know what each are thinking, horse/rider. That magic when you as a team accomplish your goals. As my instructor told me, theres a big difference between someone sitting on a horse, & a horse person who knows the aids, understands their animal, helps their horse & them become 1 enity.

As an athlete and an equestrian who has had to train her way up on horse and on foot, horses are WAY harder and I take both seriously i run 400m 200m in and run for an hour a day in plus 30-25 and ride in those same conditions in the same day and it takes a TOLL! but riding is no word of a lie harder.

We are the brave ones. We Trust our lives and have a bond with animals 3,4 Times our size and weight maybe more. I know after a jump or ride my muscles are sore. We use every muscle in our bodies strenuously like any other athlete. The muscles we have to have particularly in our legs is incredible. I'm very proud that we are a breed of our own. Respect and Pride we all deserve for what we do. And while I am not an event Rider I am in training showjumping and have just jumped play Third bar however my third bars the height of their second bar LOL but it's still more than many can do.😊 Much love to all of us we deserve to be recognized as any other sport just watch the FEI the other day it was amazing so much admiration.❤🐎🐎🐎❤🐎🐎🐎

I stopped using the crop on a pony cause I always forgot it and I feel like I am better without it my instructor recommends it but I refuse to use it other’s use it on him but I will NEVER use it again on any horse.yes he is girthy but I don’t mind he is who he is and I am who I am

When they say ‘the horse is doing all the work, it looks like you’re just sitting there’ it’s actually a compliment. Because the best equestrians make it look like they aren’t doing anything, meanwhile there’s a lot of multitasking going on and an equestrian has to think about countless things every single second while riding
