True but it was all in the writing. Wahlberg was reading a script that painted Chace as a "good guy". Getty was ruthlessly evil, good guys don't work for people like that, not even if they applied for the job.

Ironically, I was never a Branden Fraser fan when he was in his “prime” in the 1990’s - I didn’t think his acting was that great then. Now... I think he’s better than ever - and it started with this role. I remember watching this a few years back and commenting to myself how good he was in this. I’m glad he won an Oscar. Definitely well deserved.

There's a lot of talent in Hollywood that doesn't get to play in well written, well directed films. Too often, the money backing the film wants some insurance. That's why Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise and a few others get so many roles. It's also why sequels are common.
