Looks fabulous! I am just starting to cut my own hair...full-time. I have dabbled for years. You give me courage for using the texturizing scissors which I need for my thick hair! are you still cutting your own hair? Thanks!

Yes, I do. I have a part-time teaching job and with fibromyalgia condition. I get so tired and that is the reason I haven't uploaded much of anything. Yes, the first step was scary but if you practice enough you will get used to it. You also know where to leave it longer too. I am glad that you tried it. Now, everything is so expensive, that cutting your own hair is one expense that you can cut out of your budget. Thank you for your comments.

I got my.own clipper set and hair cutting kit to learn to do my.own as im paid ones a month and got to move march 31 so teaching to do my own pixie cuts why not

Hello, please use a large clipper because you can cut it shorter later. At first, you might make a mistake here and there, but if you continue to try and pay attention to your hair. You can make it as beautiful as you want. It is about knowing your hair. Which side of the hair wants to pop up or lay flat. Do you have a cowlick? You need to leave the hair longer, so it doesn't stick out. Have fun and have a lot of patience first.

@@AACE73 Not yet. The last hairdresser almost scalped me bald, so I'm leaving it to grow more than the inch I have on my head. She wasn't amused when I said, I would have to leave it. She had already booked me in for two more cuts. I don't need to pay anyone to make a mess, I can make a mess and save myself a small fortune. Have you tried this yet?🤗

Hello, with fine hair, you want to go to the largest guard, number 20. It will leave you about 21/2 in length, and always try the bottom hair up in the back to see if it will work for you. Good luck. Thank you for your comment.

Guard #8 will leave your hair only 1 inch, which might be too short. However, if you have fine hair and a lot of it, then it might work. The best time to test your hair is during the summer. It will grow faster than the winter. I hope you find this useful. @@delfinadiem3158

Thank you for your comment. When you cut your hair for the first time, please cut it longer than you wanted, then afterward. You can cut it a bit more. Also, please have patience for the first time will take longer. Good luck and enjoy.

I always imagined that the stem tasted like an unsweetened version of the fruit pulp. From what somebody else in the comments section said, this appears to be incorrect but is still somewhat intriguing given that my hubby and I have a huge tree in the backyard and I want to make more use of the plant throughout the year.

It tastes exactly like nopales, Mexican cactus. I only used the young plants and the flowers. I dried it and made teas with it. So you can utilize the flower, fruit, and young stem. Thank you for your comment.

Thank you for this very useful information. My thought is, IF you choose to check that box to embed your videos, protect your content by adding your profile photo to each video FIRST. Go to KZbin Studio, at the left side go to Settings, and then at the top click on Branding. At the bottom you can then choose how you want your profile photo to be shown on every video. Also best check "do not remix", so that no one can create any Short using your videos (if you don't want that to happen too).

I have very thick hair like this ! ..you did an amazing job! I would pay you to cut mine! .. i recently chopped my hair ( july 3) . It was a good cut but not GREAT . I just went back last wk for a trim & he did a horrible half ass job & screwed up my right side. You did a fantastic job on cutting your own hair which is very difficult & you aren't a professional . Im so impressed !! .. Ive already thinned my hair 2x since i got it recut . I had no idea what i was doing but i just started thinning away .. he left it way too long & way too thick - im so not impressed & will not go back ! ... im going to learn to do my own by watching these amazing videos !! ❤ you look so beautiful w the pixie!

Thank you for your comment. Because of my medical condition, I gave up on doing hair for many years. Like you, I couldn't find a hairdresser to listen to what I needed, so I cut my hair. At first, it wasn't easy, but with practice, I did well. Then, when COVID came, I thought to create videos to help others cut their hair at home. I was able to work for a few years when I was first diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, but as I progressed, it just became overwhelming for me and I had a breakdown at work. Unfortunately I was the receptionist at a large lawyers office and I just couldn’t do my job properly. I was sensitive to the lighting, carpets, constantly dealing with Clients and a very busy switchboard. I was fortunate that my bosses helped me get long term disability. I just loved my job so it was a big loss for me. I loved to keep busy, but was always exhausted. Sometimes we are forced to reinvent ourselves. I finally started to sell my baking and just loved it. Baking is my passion. People would place orders especially at Christmas and I did really well. This was 30 years ago. My Fibro has become very disabling for me now. I have difficulty walking and cannot stand too long to do my baking. Swimming is my exercise of choice. I find the water is so relaxing and takes my pain away for a short time.
