I've got to wonder how profit rates can be so high; it's almost like prices were arbitrarily set by the developers and they didn't take into account that prices stabilise around the value determined by labour expended.

It's almost as if nuclear fuel can be used for something else than power production. Though nuclear waste can be refined irl into new uranium and plutonium. Plutonium is generally better for bombs than uranium, but can also be adapted for use in a reactor. Recycling nuclear waste is actually more expensive irl than just mining new ore.

In a fictional, parallel universe, 20th century nuclear power plants were developed in the way they were because the byproducts were nearly weapons. Not because it was the smartest engineering for civilian power generation.

Greetings from russian community!!! i like your videos because its something new, and something that i really need. We too have guides with our russian youtubers, but usually we have a lot calculates (1-2 hour video about how is time cycle is working) and they looks same to university lesson. If hexaboo reading this, please make video about communications, because i dont really understand them (electricity station produces 5000MWt per hour, but wires dont use this type of measure, just 4\6\8\10\12\14 MWt, so how do i understand which wires i need to use? Same to the water and other communications) i think if ur channel have russian translation it would be more popular, bcz we dont have anything like your content
@Hexaboo26 күн бұрын
A Russian translation? Hmm, who knows, maybe someday? 😁 About utilities, they indeed are a bit of a pain sometimes (think 'wrong slope' for sewers), and how to make them work will absolutely be covered in a video, thanks for suggesting the possible points to discuss. Re: converting daily production/consumption megawatts into momentary cable capacity megawatts. Just divide the production/consumption value by 60. That'll get you the amount of wattage that moves through the wire at every single moment. Or check the 'Max. wattage (circuit breaker)' parameter of the power plant. That's the maximum it can deliver momentarily.

Quick heads up about the electronics industry: as the game goes on, the factories eat more materials and spit out less product, to the point where 100ish years in, it'll be 3:1 components to electronics factory. It'll work for now, but soon one day it'll really hurt and the factory will need more reworking. The way I heard it works: Component cost increases to a max of 170% by 2030s, electronics cost increases to a max of 200% by 2060s, and both spit out 30% of the product by 2060s. [Citation needed]
@Hexaboo26 күн бұрын
Huh, is it only for electronics/perhaps other advanced industries, or for everything? This kind of makes having domestic chemicals production a necessity! Thanks for the tip, I'll look into it!
@leahmercredi413425 күн бұрын
@@Hexaboo it's only for electronics and electrical components afaik, but it's one of the reasons that electronics only seem to get more expensive as the game goes on. By the time the recipes max out, you'll need a seriously insane amount of chemicals, so might as well start thinking about it soon!

I know its likely a while away: But oh god I can't wait for nuclear industry, given BBojoe and others consider it the most positive industry for development period. Then again, your technical understanding of how it works would make me wonder just how profitable it is under stress so I can wait!
@thebandofbastards493427 күн бұрын
It's profitability it's so absurd that even building straight up the nuclear fuel factory would solve all your debt problems.

Seeing all that rail spagetti at the big plant makes me wonder if cable cars are able to carry animals... Maybe a video on transpot economics is on order. Just to find out, weather there is any benefit that trolley busses carry over trams.
@HexabooАй бұрын
To my shame, I've never tried cable cars, so no idea 😂 So yeah, a discussion of transport is in order (I'll talk about a related topic next time). There are late-game trolleybuses that are faster than trams, plus I think the infrastructure is cheaper, just make sure to get the workshop mod that provides trolleybus platforms - standard bus platforms don't accept them (but the modded ones takes both).

please for your next vid talk about making your construction industry self sufficient. how you need boards, gravel, concrete, asphalt, prefabs, bricks, and all of the local and national infrastructure to make it all work just so you don't have to take massive loans to buy all of that material. it is by far the bread and butter of what makes this game such a unique city builder and the satisfaction of making a whole new district/town with its accompanying industry.
@HexabooАй бұрын
It's not going to happen in the next video, but it's definitely a topic to be discussed. I'm finding the problem with importing construction materials is more of a logistical one, rather than financial. As you build deeper into the map, the supply lines and construction times get longer, and the customs points can only handle so much traffic, even with mods. So yeah, construction industries will happen :)

Meat?! In my communist utopia?!
@HexabooАй бұрын
Askhyally, post-Soviet countries only recovered to their 1980's levels of meat consumption in the last 5-10 years, and most of the currently successful meat production facilities (especially chicken) date back to late 1960's and 1970's when there was a huge investment push for that. :)
