I'm currently doing a run. It's my first time playing Morrowind, I was introduced to Elder Scrolls back in the Oblivion days. I've been a fan since. At first, I won't lie. I did not like Morrowind. Why? Simply because of the mechanics (probably would've helped if I read a bit.) But I have played Oblivion for a super long time. Probably 2007. Then I played a lot of Skyrim, so I admittedly went into Morrowind thinking, "shit this will be easy. How different can this game be than the other two?" Man, was I surprised. Here's the thing. I struggled a lot when I first started this game. So much so I literally thought about dropping it. My biggest issue was I couldn't understand why my attacks would miss, I had the thought that it was just luck. No quest markers were annoying, but I wasn't having too much of a hard time with it. Half the time - and you move so slow at the beginning, it made traveling so bad. I did go into it blind because, again, I've played the two that came after it, so I honestly thought that I knew what I was doing. Finally, I did some research. This game made me learn something new about myself. I always thought I could read. I was obviously wrong about that. Through reading finally and actually researching, I figured out why my attacks would miss. And it's not based on luck but your skill and fatigue, which if I had actually read the attributes it would've told me that. Over time, I've gotten better. And I am actually enjoying the game now. I learned some new stuff, even like a few days ago, that helped a lot. I even got the Cresent Blade. In the end, the game is definitely fun and enjoyable and absolutely a good game. I feel a nostalgia when playing it, and that doesn't make any sense as I never grew up with it. Strange right?

There are so many better survival games than these like Ark, Conan Exiles, 7 Days to Die, No one Survived, Project Zomboid, and many others you should try those.

Once i've been coming back to skingrad's lord for award and i've noticed that orc servant somehow wasn't there. I've been looking for him and randomly found him lying dead under the bridge. Accidentally he stumbled and fell down when i wasn't there. This was the most impressive unscripted event i've ever seen in games. So existential.

I actually love doing this. Gives the game depth. You're trying to survive. It's almost eye opening to know in a real war if I was gun ho about it like I am in video games I would be in the grave 9 times out of 10. ONE time I was able to complete the challenge. And when I'm frustrated I just remind myself that my team and I are not ww2 soldiers with tactics that would minimize my chance of death.

Dude, you gotta try Chivalry II. It's a lot like Hell Let Loose but medieval. It doesn't have proximity chat which is somewhat sad though. I'd like to here people beg for mercy as I drive a halberd through their hearts.

You HAVE to download the actual fix (unless it has already been implemented in newer re-releases) that removes the 100 days timer... literally, if you spend 150 days in-game and you don't bring a water chip to Vault 13 the game ends. There was an actual 'fix' to this limitation because yeah, games in 1997 came with no instructions and literally you had to hit the floor running and discover the game and gameplay for yourself... ah, the golden era of video games!

I only did something like that back in Rising Storm on the Okinawa map. I somehow miraculously survived the initial push where half the team always gets mowed down by an lmg or two, and then I pretty much couldn't move so I just took some pot shots. Eventually my team took an objective so I moved in to a better position, then we got pushed back. Somewhere in that push back I ran out of ammo, so I sat there for 3 or 5 minutes waiting for things to die down for a second to run back to a resupply. I got shot on the way, but survived, and decided to find another spot to take out all the peekers from the bunker in the middle of the map, and after we got that objective back again it was full on assault from thereon that I've actually took active part in until I ran out of ammo again. We were pushing hard so resupllying was pretty safe but my team was so effective at this point that I never really got back to the front line before we won. Hands down my best experience in that game, and it was also done on a map with very little cover. Tried to do something similar in Hell Let Loose but best I got was maybe 3 deaths.

I was 16 when morrowind was released in 2002. Back then I was still playing Diablo 2 on my dad’s computer. I still remember when I saw the first fragments of morrowind on tv and on websites like gamespot when it had just come out. The graphics blew my mind completely. It was like something from another world. the idea that you could just freely run around in first person in this huge open world and watch the sun rise while hiking was insane to me. All the FPS games I had played until then were shooters like RTCW or quake 3 which were incredibly primitive and limited in comparison. Sure, now 23 years later it seems horribly outdated and unplayable unless you want to make a video joking about the weird gameplay mechanics like swooshing your sword in midair 500 times until a hit lands. But let me assure you, in 2002 it was no joke. I was finale able to buy my own pc in 2003 and morrowind was the first thing I installed.

I played Morrowind on release, and it blew my mind. This was back when most people who played games still had imagination and creativity. For me personally, the mid' game was nothing short of a astonishing experience. I deliberately avoided anything that had to do with the main quest, and dove deep into all the world had to offer. I'm a keen reader, and very specifically remember a whole three plus hour session on a Thursday night when the rain was really hitting the windows hard. I simply spent my time absorbed in the books and exploring my journal to note down small things that I had missed, or put on hold and forgot about. The following day at work (Friday, to double the pain) was the slowest that time seemed to pass that I have ever experienced. My mind was planning out the places and people I so wished to experience, given the previous nights notes. Wonderous. The only other time I have ever experienced that kind of distraction was with Super Metroid. Modern games are mostly dumbed down forgettable fluff. A small part of me is kind of relieved about that, because I've got a family, hearth and home to contend with. But the greater side of me is simply saddened and dismayed. The younger generations have been robbed and stripped of almost everything remotely thoughtful, inciteful, creative, soulful. Something with spirit, a voice, character... bah. Sorry for the ramble.
