To put things in perspective: Arrowhead anticipated ~50k concurrent players, with contingencies in place to support up to 250k (the first game peaked at ~7k on Steamcharts). So far, the game has peaked at an estimated 800k+ concurrent players. That is *nuts*.

This might end up being my GOTY and honestly might be in my top 10 of all time list. Most issues I've seen are directly because it's TOO popular and the servers are buckling. The gameplay loop and community vibe are just so good.

Part of what I love so much about the game is the unconventional aiming system. It makes you choose between mobility and less spread, giving a great sense of tension and strategy when on the run from hordes of enemies!

Eh I wouldn’t say they’re comparable other than maybe the fact that you’re fighting a lot of enemies at once a lot of the time. EDF is is much more over-the-top action whereas Helldivers is much more grounded despite its goofy presentation.

It's a simple game that focuses completely on fun and enjoyment. It doesn't have all the bullshit AAA games come with these days. But the best part is that it's a great foundation for more to come. They've already mentioned mechs will be coming in the future, and who knows what all else will be coming. I know in helldivers 1 you eventually fight on super earth which sounds sick. Very much looking forward to the future of this game.

Game I pay money for that also has MTX and paid seasons? No thanks. I know right now it's all obtainable in game and none of it is objectively more powerful - but I just don't trust that it's going to stay that way. Also the floaty aim sounds just...awful.

MTX I have no idea what they will do. Right now its fine. Games are just going to have them. As for the aiming at first it was weird, but I got used to it. There is also First person shooting.
