To balance the rads, did you mean open the closest rad 1/4 TURN - or a 1/4 of the way TO FULLY OPEN , etc etc ???

I approve all of these methods! Half the ferrule tools have don’t work or damage the pipes, your ways will work! My personal favorite is the hack saw! Good video!👍💯💯💯

Great video Do you have any advice on deepening the backboxes? I am increasing the depth from 25mm to 35mm. I cannot use any of the high-quality screwless switches available without making this adjustment.

He didn’t take into account diversity, also modern cookers self regulate their heat you don’t need a 6mm^2 cable theses day 4mm^2 is plenty we only install 6mm^2 because it’s been standard practice for decades. These day what with micro waves and microwaves and air fryers a modern electric cooker is very unlikely to pull its full load . Even if it does it’s not going to be at full temperature for long periods as they self regulate ie they reach full temperature for five minutes the drops for five minutes it does this for as long as the cooker is on . John Word did a video on it where he explains in more detail.

I am having a false ceiling put in my landing as the current ceiling is way too high. Will it be okay to use Wago connectors, or similar on the original ceiling rose, and then run a single wire from the connectors i.e. live, neural, earth, switch, to the new ceiling rose in the dropped ceiling.

Great video to get people killed. You should never change a mcb without taking the busbar off. Some people will watch the video & go down exactly the same thing on a live busbar & get killed 🤦🏻♂️

Yes very informative vid👌, but how does one know which radiator is the first to balance then the next, when all the pipes are hidden under the flooring.?🤔
@rojhasan54814 күн бұрын
This is one of the difficult bits. One way to do it, is to make sure your central heating is off, and all radiators are cold. Then switch your central heating on and check to see which one gets hot first, and then second and so on. This method presents a problem in that: A. If you have a lot of radiators, can be confusing as to which one is first, second etc. B. With the current lock shield valve settings, the first radiator in line from the boiler feed could be closed, and therefore won't get hot. The other way, probably a bit painstaking, is open all lock shield valves. Then switch on central heating, and this should show the first radiator that gets hot. Then close the first ones lock shield valve, and repeat and see which is the second one and so on. Correct me.if I'm wrong anyone.

So at 5.0 the kitchen diagram does the fcu come off the ring main at each of the sockets, ie a wire from a socket on the ring to the fcu and then to the socket for the washing machine. A wire off the second Socket on the ring to an fcu and then to a socket for the dishwasher and so on.
