I also played Doom 64, Blood, Hellbound, Wrath: Eon of Ruin, Dread Templar, Hrot, Postal Brain Damaged, Nightmare Reaper, Zortch and Incision. And Quake, which I didn't play back in the day And also Strafe, I guess, but I really hated it. Forgive me Father pissed me off with the fish boss, and I got bored of Boltgun. And I didn't enjoy Ultrakill. I forgot to mention Ashes, a Doom total conversion, which I enjoyed for a while but lost interest when I couldn't work out where to go.

Don't forget the soap in dusk, possibly the most OP weapon in all of gaming. Dusk is one of the few games that I have 100% of STEAM achievements for. My current list of top boomer shooters, in no particular order of greatness: Ion Fury Prodeus Dusk Cultic Turbo Overkill Immortal Redneck Wolfenstein: Blade of Agony Project Warlock Hedon Selaco

Cultic is the best thing to happen to Boomer Shooters and FPS games in general in the recent years.

Viscerafest, Nightmare Reaper, Ghostware arena of the dead, Hedon bloodrite, Hrot, Supplice and Saleco are also worth mentioning.

Whenever I try to play The Citadel on my steam deck, it tends to have bad performance. What’s your recommended settings? Also I gotta say that this video is not for me as I own a all but Reverend (although refunded due to really bad screen tearing, but as I’m writing this I realized that might’ve been my fault as I always have screen tearing on to reduce input lag and never factor that in as it hasn’t impacted my experience in other games) and Gravelord (as this one hasn’t released yet).

The ambient/new age music of the PSX port matches more the theme of Doom. The cheesy Thrash inspired tunes of the PC version always sounded out of place. I think John Romero was trying to project his outdated taste in music rather than caring about aesthetics.

fun fact: some of those characters are not female. Like in HG Wells' The Time Machine, humanity's flesh has devolved (thanks to cybernetics) and they have lost their gender-defining traits. You are a proper human, thawed from a cryogenic slumber

My favorite Nickelodeon games are Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway, Spongebob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. I still need to pick up Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland. It came out in august. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is a lot better than All-Star Brawl 1.

I just picked up a bunch of Disney games and Nickelodeon games for my PlayStation 2. The ones I played are all pretty fun so far. I didn't know the SpongeBob game was redone for the PlayStation 5 that's pretty interesting. I recommend trying the Disney games for PS2.

These licensed games usually didn't review well in the gaming magazines. They must have sold though because publisher and devs kept making them.

I love the fact that you dont show just the best games, and even includes games you wouldnt recommend but are pertinent to the theme

Brutal Doom or Project Brutality make Doom so, so much more fun for someone without nostalgia goggles.

PS1 never had any 2d sprite capabilities, so the devs had to use one sided textured polygons to simulate sprites and sometimes they add 3d textures for rotation effects to alleviate the vram usage like in SOTN for example.
