I really don't know how I got here I started to watch the video and I found it interesting and I went to your channel to see your content and I think you have very good content because I went to the beginning and you inspired me to do the same with my suburban from scratch and I am not a mechanic either, I have learned a little mechanics because I like it and thanks to people like you who take the time to explain step by step I have been able to do very expensive jobs on my own cars

New sub here. Looking to do the exact same thing on the exact same engine. Is it rude for me to ask pricing? If you don’t want to give actual dollar amount, scale of 1-10 will work lol

I talked to darton and tried getting sleeves from them for my ls6 and asked who they recommend the most for sleeve installations and they said talk to Steve D from race engine development. They claimed he helped practically engineer the installation process with darton and said there was no one better. From Steve I learned my ls6 block has had to many issues even sleeved to reach my hp goals. He told me to Look for a 5.3 lc9 but told me to be weary of what casting # I get because apparently the casting 12571048 is the only lc9 without coolant channels Below the cylinder? I guess it makes it not worth sleeving for a large hp LS build. I have only seen a few other people mention this online.. did your machine shop mention the same thing? Plan on getting 1/2 arp 625 bolts drilled and tapped deeper for some different head studs and have it machined for fire rings along with my darton sleeves and have my mongoose heads drilled out larger as well. Summit racing doesn’t mention anything about the block variances either. Have had so many people tell me 1800hp isn’t possible in a “stock” 4 bolt LS block and only places that haven’t told me I’m of wasting my time was REDs and TKM. Choosing the right machine shop is super important!
@ColeC7002 жыл бұрын
Was annoyed looking for the right lc9 took me a good minute with there being 4 casting #s 12571048, 12601900, 12569513, 12568573
