Episode 42: Final Assembly - Using Time-Sert to repair damaged head bolt threads
If you'd like to see if the Time-Sert actually did work and perform as intended, be sure to check out my next episode, episode 43, where I actually installed the heads after using the Time-Sert to repair the threads. If you'd like more info about which Time-Sert kit I purchased... here's a link to what I used: www.amazon.com/TIME-SERT-M11x...

Thanks for the Video! I just broke a head bolt off in my Cast Iron block, an ARP one. Tried to remove it myself and made it worse!!!! Only paid a couple hundred for the complete engine so putting out the money for the kit is extreme!. No shops around here in Ontario, Canada have the M11x2 Kit I need and they say it isn't worth it to purchase one for one job, that it is rarely needed. So I have to get another block from a wreckers and start over. Thanks for the how to, I just broke it and found your video. Bradley P

Good job! If you always have one engine and transmission in your garage and one in your Suburban, you could literally run this truck forever. It’s what I intend to do, except with a crate/transmission combo from Chevrolet Performance. Remember brand new 2021 4x4 Suburban’s (with the valve fowling direct injection LT engines, problem prone transmissions and weaker independent rear suspensions) are $80k out the door and get old real fast. You my friend are still ahead of the game! :) I look forward to taking my time and rebuilding my old LC9 when it wears out. I’ll always keep two engines/transmission combos. And I definitely want to upgrade to a Atlas transfer case too. Keep up the great videos!!

The one thing that really helped the other original threads was to clean them out with a thread chaser. I had to learn the hard way though, to do that step! Once I cleaned out the other threads with a chaser, the bolts went in just fine with no stripping concerns. Thanks!
