Well explained by you sir. I had been a student of NUML Islamabad of Media department. I have a question sir! Why the letters are silent in words why we don't articulate them. Just walk if i pronounce the very word so it perceive me that l is silent. So the main reason behind the silent letter?

Sherbet and Wilson defined cognitive load in terms of the number of inferences required to get to a relevant meaning. I have no idea why you are using “metonymies” and “synecdochies” and other such things as a stand in for that. I get that those things presumably increase cognitive load, but quantifying inferences is more directly what they are referring to. You also said nothing about the countervailing measure of increasing the newsworthiness of an utterance. So, a relevant utterance may require more inferences and still remain relevant if it makes something manifest to the listener that was not previously manifest.

Yes you are right, too. It also increases the cognitive load, but figures of speech increase them, too.
