If you were doing a big job like a transmission swap that required you pull the trans and have it rebuilt, can you leave the car up on the jacks and disconnect the hoses and pump so they are not on the floor for the duration?

Thank you for the great video with safety tips. I have a 7000TL. I've used it on my X1 easily with the easy to find attached lift blocks under the car. My question is that you said you have a 1999 Camaro, I have a 1995 Z28 convertible, and I'd like to know where it is that you lifted your '99 with the QJ? This way, I'll know im doing it properly when I lift my '95. Thank you.

Great video! Thank you very much. Does anyone knows the part number of those crazy looking o- rings inside the AVCS pulleys?
@DadModsMedia21 күн бұрын
I was only ever able to find replacements on ebay from an oversee supplier. But this was many years ago so I can't speak to whether they can still be found. Another factor that is very important is alignment of the two halves of the AVCS pulleys when you put them back together. Misalignment can cause some very dramatic issues I'm told. You may want to considering speaking with Outfront Motorsports if you are worried about your ability to align these correctly. They have machined an alignment pin to guarantee this and, last I checked, offered it as a service.

Awesome find! My grandpa is 88 years old I heard stories about his 1950 Ford a lot he said it was a very good reliable car back in the day, and had power for its time. Unfortunately he didn't keep any of the cars he had over time, I love seeing all kinds of classic cars, congrats on the purchase. Classic cars are a lot of fun, sometimes they can run into time and money but worth it for sure.

Oh man, if only our parents and grandparents knew how special their daily drivers would become one day! My grandfather had an old Ford pickup that I wish he kept around but at the time, I'm sure he just saw it as a regular old truck that wasn't cutting it anymore. Thanks for sharing man!

I've been considering purchasing a set of Quick Jack's for some time. The fact that you are unable to access the underside of the vehicle from the driver or passenger side seems like a major disadvantage. I envision having the vehicle lifted in a standard size garage with the garage door closed (if working on the vehicle in the winter) and not being able to access the underside of the vehicle unless you leave your garage door open. The lift literally blocks access to the underside of the vehicle from front wheel well to rear wheel well. Is this a concern with this type of lift?

Oh, I got PTSD when I saw the sleeves and aaid noooo out loud. But was so relieved when you grabbed them ol double bubble bags. Sleeves are so trash! I had them on my car, granted it was a daily driver for over 5 years. But those sleeves scrunch up when Deflated. Don't always roll into them selves as designed. Which means these creases become cracks that split and next thing you know, your fender drops down onto your rim stopping your car dead. I like this set up. Would love to replace my air shocks with that for more adjustment. Great video and car!

I wonder why a side-to-side stabilizer type bar isn’t thought of, to lock the two units together and avoid any tipping hazard. HUH!
@DadModsMedia2 ай бұрын
Paul, it's a great thought. I debated it myself simply for alignment purposes. The trouble is, having a cross bar/s would possibly foul exhaust components or crossmembers if it attached to the portion of the Quickjack that lifts. If there was a way to attach to the lower portion, then really the only downside is that using a creeper underneath would be very challenging.
@bossmodetubby2 ай бұрын
Might be a ridiculous question but can you go super low without notching?
@DadModsMedia2 ай бұрын
On a shoebox, I think with the right combination of drop blocks and a few pulled leaves I bet you could get the axle to the frame, which is low but definitely not laying frame. But then you are really compromising pinion angle and risk axle wrap under hard acceleration. If you want to fully dump one of these things I'd suggest the Shoebox Central 2 link kit. It's a bit of fab work but that kit gets the frame on the ground.

Remember how simple shop manuals use to be? Cars were designed, built and sold with the owners in mind, that they could work on and fix them in their driveway. Being a borderline Gen X'er, I miss the simpler times and try to teach simpler life to my kids as well. Loved your chat and motivation.
@DadModsMedia2 ай бұрын
I suspect we are similarly aged. I was born in 83, so some debate that's borderline GenX and I have to say I am so thankful to have been born in such a simpler time compared to today. Everything was simpler, and I too miss it a great deal. It's awesome to hear you're trying to raise your kids with a simple life. We are too to the best of our ability.

@DadModsMedia2 ай бұрын
Ride preference is so subjective, but I'll say the Berserker series has a lot of adjustment and I'm running around a city with very shitty roads on a stiffer valving setting. My car spends a lot of time on the track and I love this setup and I've only just started with fine tuning it.

That's awesome, I can't wait to install mine. Had them sitting around for about a year now just haven't got the time, also been building up to a full suspension sitting around here n there. I started to get worried about the Vikings in comparison to what's said about the QA1s, I hope they're real stiff for lower cars. Another one of my cars is pretty low and I guess my coilovers aren't enough to keep it from bottoming out once in a while. Thanks for creating this video
@DadModsMedia3 ай бұрын
Viking will build you 100% custom valved coilovers exactly like you want in varying lengths, spring rates and attachment points. You made the right choice with Viking. I'll put it this way; there's a reason why all the fast guys around here run Viking. So get her done, get those coilovers on and if you need a stiffer spring because you're so low they can hook that up too. These guys are the real deal!

@DadModsMedia2 ай бұрын
Sorry about the super delayed response. I didn't use the Speedway kit, but a kit very similar. I don't recall there being a T-bar in the kit. I mounted my hanging pedal barely to the left so the actual pedal arm is almost touching the side of the column.
