Today we deep dive into rebuilding OEM control arms on my 1999 Chevrolet Camaro track car.
I take you through my entire process discussing each component and showing how I remove bushing and ball joints, the install new aftermarket pieces in their place.
In the next video I will cover the upper control arm bracket as well as the coilover suspension going into the Camaro!
COMPONENTS USED:
Lower ball joints - amzn.to/48FCfEm
Lower bushings - amzn.to/3NNvW9B
Upper ball joints - amzn.to/3tCbO3k
Upper bushings - amzn.to/48nmmCz
I decided against using the Energy Suspension bushings in the lower due to the need to reuse OEM bushing sleeves and washers. There is also debate whether poly bushings in the factory lower control arms cause binding and premature bushing failure. I opted to use OEM Moog bushings in the lower control arms, and Energy Suspension bushings in the upper.
ENERGY SUSPENSION 33164G - amzn.to/3vtiSzJ
TOOLS:
Ball joint press kit - amzn.to/3tuv2bf
