Have you ever tried the Voigtländer 35mm f2.5 Color Skopar II? It's also a pancake lens but I much prefer the classic design along with the focal length over this one. A conspicuous classic decently fast nifty-fifty lens, honestly I thought Fuji would've made one already on their own but nope.
@calebbrunkowАй бұрын
I haven’t tried that one yet but sounds awesome! May have to
@marcp.175225 күн бұрын
Its an Leica M mount or LTE mount version, you need a Leica M to Fujifilm X adapter..which makes everything bigger. That Color-Skopar is also 35mm, for 36x24mm Sensors - and not for APS-C hereby. (edit) Yes, you can use Fujifilms own adapter, but then you do have a 52.5mm focal length - and no more 35mm for real...in terms of FoV, so it doesn't make sense. Since a nifty-fifty is more compressed FoV, than a wideangle 35mm lens, for real. (Fujifilm, Sony, Pentax & Nikon APS-C is usually x1.52 cropfactor - Canon APS-C is x1.6)
@shira_yone25 күн бұрын
@@marcp.1752 yes, I am aware. Fortunately Leica M (along with LTM39) to other mirrorless camera adaptors are quite thin and small so the lens will still be compact when mounted while still retaining electrical contact. I prefer longer focal length, my phone can do the wide stuff so I never felt the need to have wide lenses (I don't like wide angle distortions either). What doesn't make sense exactly? Yes, the crop factor will make it a classic nifty-fifty, that is exactly what I said.
@marcp.175225 күн бұрын
@@shira_yone For my taste, that Color Skopar 35/2.5 (II) doesn't make sense via crop Sensor, because you'd end up with 52.5mm FoV in 35mm terms, plus the added adapter. But if you're being fine with roughly 50mm, it's fine. But everyone is being different. I'd use that lens on a Leica M film, or even digital, if i'd own one. Have the also very small Heliar 40/2.8, which fits perfectly the CL/CLE.
@shira_yone25 күн бұрын
@@marcp.1752 okay. It definitely made sense to me. The Heliar 40/2.8 is also one lens I'm interested in, since it'll be a 61mm lens in 35mm terms on a Fuji X system. Another one is a really tiny lens, the TTArtisan 28/5.6 (a copy of Summaron 28/5.6) made of brass. I think this Voigtlander 27/2 in the video is probably better overall, but the TTArtisan does look really cool (and is cheaper).

A thing nobody ever talked about but i really dont like about the lens, is the fact that its not sharp across the frame beacause of its strong field curvature. The lens is not even sharp across the frame to the edges at f5.6 and at this aperture even the midframes are a bit blurry. At F11 its okay. I really love this lens, especially for portraits, but because of this downside its not suited for me for an "always on camera" lens for everything. I more like to walk around with the 58 1.2 because that lens is at f2 as sharp across the frame the dream lens is at f5.6, and therefore suited for landscapes much better.
@calebbrunkowАй бұрын
I hear ya! That field curvature definitely lends to the “dream lens” aspect of it but not great from a technical standpoint. Love the 58 1.2 FL!!

I picked up the Vivitar/Tokina 35-105mm f3.5 with Pentax K mount for cheap. It's actually fairly nice lens. It adapts super easy to my RF body and the results are very nice. Pretty darn sharp and useable throughout the focal range. I took it with my on a vacation I took to the East coast earlier this year. I took along a Quantaray 24mm f2.5 also with the PK mount and the combo of those two lenses meant that I didn't have to bring along a lot more lenses. Though I did stuff an Industar N-61 53mm f2.8 into the kit because its so funky and small. That whole kit ended up making me very cool images during the week long trip. The zoom lens was a huge help, though it is a heavy beast. But it has a nice little macro feature that allows it to focus pretty close. Not a true 1:1 macro, but it helps to get you closer to the subject and its useable throughout the focal range. Unlike some other vintage zoom lenses in this same sort of range. Often they can only use the macro feature at the wide end. Anyhow, another option.

I used to sell cameras and lenses on eBay I probably had well over a hundred Canon point and shoots. I used or tested every single one of them with an indoor test and an outdoor test before putting it up for sale. You name the model I've probably had it, almost every SD model and S model. The Canon sd1000 is a really good one but there are others that cost a forth as much that take just as good of pictures. Also there are numerous Canon S models like the s50 s60 x s70 s80s s90 etcetera. That all shoot raw and have a larger sensor size and usually cost a lot less than the sd1000. I think the secret to these cameras is knowing what settings to use and never go over 200 ISO and you can still get good shots you just have to be more careful. Almost all of these Canon cameras take great photos the ones that are between 4 and 10 megapixels especially. Paying $125 or more for a Canon sd1000 I think it's a little nuts. Yes if you can get one at a thrift store for 25 or 30 bucks go for it but a lot of these Canon S cameras you can buy a for 30 to 50 bucks or so they are a far superior camera in several ways.
