Cam 1 was a giveaway for the iPhone with the incredible stability, slightly oversharpened look, and the way it handled the highlight areas of the image. Cam 2 just handled the blowout skies better and was hella shaky 😂

BeastGrip makes an adapter for the iPhone that allows it to adapt EF lenses, get that thing then do another comparison and I bet it will be much harder. I saw some footage using it and I believe some cooke glass and it looked damn good.

That’s awesome! I definitely gotta try that out and shoot in prores on the iPhone to see how close it gets

#2 is definitely the red, lack of ibis shows pretty fast 😂

There ya go! I wish there was a way to turn off the iPhones stabilization to make a bit harder to tell the difference

IBIS doesn't exist on high end cinema cameras, I wonder why that is? I'll tell you, high end houses don't want digitally manipulated source shot material. There's loads they can do in post production (and DO in post production) with global shutter of the Komodo software stabailzation is in even better hands. I really do hate this era of comparing and contrasting cameras branded for different purposes to one another as if it's somehow going to inform anybody of anything. No offence Caleb, I'm a fan.

Totally hear ya, it was just supposed to be a fun video comparing two completely different cameras to see the results. I don’t want ibis in cinema cameras either, that’s why sliders and gimbals and tripods exist lol

#1 was the phone #2 was the RED, I think #1 was the phone because of the highlights and baked in sharpness.

sure enough was right.

The sharpness and baked in highlights are always a dead giveaway! I wish Apple let us remove the digital sharpening without having to use third party apps

I think the first one is an IPhone and the second one is the camera just because the second one was a little more shaky and if you don’t use a stabilizer it will come out more shaky. But I don’t film I am more of a photographer so I am not really sure.

Video quality were comparable but cam 2 was shakier, so it led me to believe it was the iPhone.

iPhone was way oversharpened and oversaturated
@calebbrunkow2 жыл бұрын
Typical iPhone qualities lol, no color grading was done to either set of clips, iPhone was straight out of camera and red was just converted to Rec 709
@edoardoexiana86842 жыл бұрын
@@calebbrunkow yea that's exactly what i meant, iphones just always overprocess images to make up for their small sensor and lack of optical quality, and it shows a lot when compared to bigger sensors and generally better cameras
