What an incredible defensive effort by Arsenal against Man City. At the beginning of the game I’d have taken a draw but given how brilliantly we defended for so long in the second half, I’m disappointed we didn’t get the win.

Calafiori looks a fantastic player and a strange buy. We’ve basically put a £40m bet on Saliba or Gabrielle getting injured this season. Teams switch around midfield and attacking players, but no one breaks up brilliant centre back partnerships

I agree with you Charles. It was a good reason to let ESR and Reiss go out, no regrets. MO has just been our for a few weeks and he is coming back it's not like he has been sold. It's good that they are doing well and we are happy. Let's support our team, COYG!

Can’t see us getting anything from the game today, city have had two days clear rest, none for us with all the travelling, we’ll be knackered, especially second half, I’ll hope for miracles.

Charles, big up yourself! It is not unexpected that Arteta's decision to sell and loan players without ensuring adequate replacements comes off as both arrogant and shortsighted. His actions reflect a man who, in trying so hard to prove his value, undermines his own efforts. By prioritizing his vision over the stability of the team, he harms the very thing he wishes to elevate. And yet, the results speak for themselves-his approach isn't yielding the success he seeks.

Partly has been error prone this season. He males at least one error ever game that could have led to a goal. I think he should be on the bench for this one. I suspect this will be a very close game like it was past season.

What a ridiculous analysis from a top journalist on Martinsmelli. What does a settle side have to do with him running the ball off the pitch consistently, his poor crosses and poor finishes?

I wouldn't play Partey: he's not the player he used to be. I would put Calafiori instead.
@Marlon_J5 сағат бұрын
Yeah, Partey hasn't really looked sharp in a while. Calafiori in there could work, but knowing how Mikel thinks, it's not going to happen, as he views him as cover for the guys at the back.

It seems to me a lot of people are maybe overlooking the value of Martinelli's work rate and defensive work. I wouldn't want anyone else - he can hurt City on the break in ways few else can
@housinauthority52585 сағат бұрын
He hasn't hurt any team on the break in about 25 games! I hope he proves me wrong!!
@mattc11764 сағат бұрын
@@housinauthority5258 Most games we aren't playing on the break. He can exploit space to run into better than anyone in the squad. This is going to be a game where City have the possession and territory a lot of the time. The concern and complaints over end product are legit but it's not like he can't do it.
@SueMyChin3 сағат бұрын
@@housinauthority5258 Simply having his pace means that defences can't push as high as they would like, maybe City are the exception with Walker though. We'll see.

I’m not sure why you think the instability on left side is the reason why Martinelli is missing his chances. Martinelli is playing way to fast and at times he rush things when he should have remind come. He might need to be drop in order for to fix this part of his game, he is too good of a player for him to be missing all those chances.

We bought Merino and got Sterling.... ESR could have room to play and prouve what he's really worth. Can't understand the reason behind the decision to let him go...
@paulday87856 сағат бұрын
Even though we are short in midfield, this does not excuse our lack of ability to keep the ball, make simple passes, and win the second ball. This is a problem of coaching or over coaching and tactics. If our play remains as sloppy as mid-week then Man C will destroy us. Arsenal and Arteta have no excuses.

@dans44326 сағат бұрын
Against Doku I just don’t think White is good enough, similar scenario to when he plays against Mitoma. I’d have Timber RB for this one and Califiori at LB. I think that’s a less a risk despite that Back 4 not starting together yet. I also think Califiori provides the balance to hit Martinelli or other runners first time with his left foot as opposed to Timber slowing it down and cutting inside too often

More waffle… I have been going home and away since mid 1980’s. We should always be able to criticise the team as paying patrons. £800m and our squad is thin. We will win no trophies again. Stop making excuses for failure.

I think Arsenal got to play to win and get the three point then we can say they will win the league. They don't have to play to draw and get one point and if they lose the game because they tried to win/score goals and that made them to lose the game its totally fine. They got to score and win this game, it is hard but that is what champion does and if you want to be champion you have to beat the best team.

Martinelli has been brilliant running the defences to shreds and wearing them out and especially for later in the game. But his final ball, whether a pass or a shot does seem to be off at the moment, with his stats saying that too. With him being slightly mentally slow by about half a yard at this time. So hopefully he can once again get fully upto speed and take what he does in training out to the pressure of the real game.

@vincentvaldesmercado76567 сағат бұрын
There are no mistakes from letting ESR and Reese go. The problem was not to replace them and that goes to Edu and Arteta. Against the City, we should try Timber and Rice and Havertz plus bring Califiori on the left to deal with Savinho and give more support to the front.

Not to sound harsh, but those who regret selling ESR, when we did have him, he hardly shone when we needed him to. The decision was right to offload him with the others. They had their chances and would not have lasted as long if they were at Man City.

If Brentford and Ipswich can create at their place with lesser players in terms of quality then I will be really annoyed if we can't even muster up one attacking move from open play. We need to be brave. Yes City will focus even more than against smaller teams but they haven't looked solid at the back all season. They can be got at but with Arteta I just don't feel he is brave enough to actually try attack them in areas. I think it will be a sit back set piece job again.

Worried about Partey's form. And Rice is definitely not up to speed physically (understandable of course, due to the Euros...). Partey really seems to have lost a yard or 2 of pace (crucial at this level) and his passing has not been as crisps as it used to be.
