You can buy the rice straw rope on Ebay. I made the rest from Home Depot supplies.

Chuck Norris respected and thought that Elvis was very good at the arts. Also Ed Parker and numerous other karate talents thought that Elvis clearly was excellent at the arts. Anything that Elvis put his mind to he excelled in and would usually go to the top!! I personally watched several videos of Elvis doing Karate and you can clearly see he knew how to handle himself.

If you want to add some kung fu to your karate - Pak Mei and Cannon Ball Fist. Those were used by lots of Body guards. Bagi Pagua is the other form known as the bodyguard kung fu.

I was happy to hear Elvis's early training was in Shotokan. I competed in Khan Rhee's tournaments during the 80's and literally ran into Bill Wallace in a doorway. Would've loved to spar with Elvis!

Ed Parker gave him HONARY rank in appreciation for the financial support Elvis provided for team USA that Ed Parker had put together. At this time Ed Parker also received a Cadillac from Elvis. This last part is more my personal opinion. I believe Elvis was more of an enthusiastic fan than a real practitioner but everyone around him played along .

I’m an Orange belt in Kenpo, and Elvis looks like he’s making some of these “techniques” up. Some of them look legit but he is not a black belt level for sure. We also don’t teach anything about “using our chi.” To push people over with our throats. I think a lot of this was bull to be honest. It makes legitimate kenpo karate people look fake.

I believe when Elvis when did Elvis got older he wasn't as healthy as when he was young but I know it is prime you could take care of himself in his younger years he was very good at karate not so much when he got older wasn't as healthy what Elvis could take care of himself in his prime

The jujutsu looks like Hakko Ryu. It may be either that, or its antecedent, Daito Ryu I’d guess. Aikido’s antecedent is also Daito Ryu.

I've trained Isshinryu for over 30 years only to come to understand why it is all but extinct on Okinawa. It is a stagnant system. It's really too bad because it is actually a good system. The problem is how it's been taught and continues to be taught. Hopefully someone will have the courage to teach this system in a way that will allow it to become as respected on Okinawa as the other systems. Someone will need to break free of the sacred cows that drags Isshinryu down. Maybe someday rank and lineage will stop being the most important thing in Isshinryu.

Thanks for your comments. Isshinryu was the first Karate style that I studied. I still have a great deal of respect for it.

Thanks for your comments! Did you know that Aikido originated from Daito-ryu Jujutsu? The founder of Aikido, Ueshiba, left out the more dangerous techniques from Daito-ryu to make Aikido. Just FYI.
Absolutely love your kata Sensei, and your passion for karate really shines through, please make more karate videos, perhaps demonstrating self defence techniques against a male attacker, us female karateka would really appreciate it thank you, OSS ❤️🥋...

Karate means empty hand, when walking home at night from a party, do you carry a bo , jo or nunchucks, us female karateka in England train our hands, elbows, feet and knees to become lethal weapons to defend our selves against men insisting on preying on women and girls, all females should take up karate and not carry weapons only those that we were born with !❤️🥋...

It's good to learn traditional weapons. Many of the skills learned can be used with "weapons of opportunity." Those items found on a street. A branch or stick, a chain or belt, practically anything hard can be used as a defensive weapon.

Two beautiful young twin ladies who both happen after years of training achieved their goal to be black belts in KARATE, and demonstrate their kata with hidden self defence techniques, there coordination is mind blowing, there power explosive, using maximum force with lightning speed, notice there objective to target an attacker(s) vulnerable areas (probably a male) to subdue him / them in seconds, guys don’t mess with us women, you’ll never know who has a black belt in karate until it’s to late for you, hospital food, or the mortuary, you have a choice !❤️🥋OSS...
