Good review there Dan, and yes, Colin did a top quality mod-setup for you. Very tempted to add a footprint to my setup like you have done. Cheers, Warren :)

To come through those type of conditions is a fairly good testament to how good quality the tent is with the mods done to it. Bushyboy Oz.

G'day Dan, as a "general" rule, I've found that if a tent is water PROOF, it'll hold up to wind too. i.e. simply .... more care in the "overall" design and materials. Well worth mentioning the differences in Warren's mods. I'd encourage everyone to cast a critical eye over any tent out of the box, there's always aspects that can be improved, ... even on the more pricey ones. Anyway, a very solid test for the upcoming trip mate, ..... I expect there will be no trees/sticks to help you out in the pitch ; ) Cheers Duke

Great to see a video with some real tent action! How would you say the 3 season full mesh inner fabric handles wind, does it let a lot through or does it block some? Was in windy inside your tent, that is? :D

@roning1122 Thanks, mate. It seemed fine to me, I didn't notice much wind getting through. I had pitched it slightly lower to the ground as I didn't want any rain sneaking under. It felt like a fairly safe place to be.

As a dealer, we also believe that it will be better after modification.

We had a catastrophic tent failure here in aus some years ago. Middle of summer. Rain/snow/100kph winds. The tent was light weight. It was such a disaster. Soaking wet nil dry clothes etc. we are experinced hikers. It “knocked” me around that much that i only use a 4 season tunnel tent. I can set up with plety of ventilation and bunker down should the weather go nuts. Weight compromised tho. Great review

Wouldn't is be great if two Lanny 1's could somehow link together like the Polish Lavvu to make a more solid structure with a friend?

Do you have the 3 season or the 4 season version? Any idea what's the difference between these?
@CampLifeBushcraft3 ай бұрын
I have the 3 season. The difference is the inner tent. 3 season is mesh. 4 season is a solid material.

I'm tempted to get a Lanny 1, but I have the Lanny 2 Pro aleady. I don't think I can validate the cost to save 200 grams? Athought the footprint size can be an issue when up high and there being limited pitch space.

I absolutely detest the wind while outdoors recreating. If there's one thing that makes an outing worthless is the wind. I deal with blowing sand where as you deal with moisture mostly, either way the wind takes all the fun out of being outdoors. Glad the test went your way, looks an admirable choice. Thanks Dan.
