Click bait. Hazmat RC pictures and promptly switched to others

I found the only photo I could of a KOA barrel of RC. I tasted two different barrels of KOA on stream, both hazmat. I also tasted so many other things over the course of 3 hours. Tell me again what your problem is?

Got a bottle at Publix liquor for just over $80 bucks. More than worth it. Absolutely delicious. I’ve had the last three batches and this one has an argument for my favorite

Just picked up a bottle today. I already cracked it. And it's f*#£in' fantastic. I also got the heavy cherry note on the nose. Nutmeg type baking spice with light oak. But the oak changed from tannic to sweet oak as it opened up. This is MY absolute flavor profile, personally. I can't wait to review it on my channel too with my buddies. Give it a little while to get some air and open up. It may actually be a buy & back it up for me. Cheers🥃

I will say that the high fruity notes can be done on a younger 95/5 rye. If you can find an OZ Tyler/Green River rye at that age barrel proof between 4.5-6 years, it’s fruit forward all day. Shortbarrel has a collection of single barrel store picks that have this very profile. Y’all should come down to Atlanta. Both you and the Junkies

I’m actually talking to Clinton about a Shortbarrel pick this fall. Fingers crossed!

@@DrumsAndDrams let’s go!!! Fall time is a great time to do picks there. So many options of finishes if you want to go that route. Cant go wrong with anything there honestly. Guys that run the place are nerds just like the rest of us.

K Luke toasted Rye is really good. The toasted finish works well with it. I agree it's not over powering and more subtle. I love what they are doing and enjoy the cask bourbons.

It reminds me of Michter's Toasted Rye. I like it a lot but that price is definitely a tough proposition. The whiskey market the past few years has made me way too comfortable spending $150+ on a bottle I remember not long ago I wouldn't go over $100 unless it was a killer bottle now I'm more than willing to drop way more than that on such a wide range of bottles. It's all so stupid haha

Cases? The stores by me, the bigger ones at that, got 1 bottle each. My prime store that I go to, put their only one aside for me and my guy told me he had about 12 calls already for it. Buy the way, every part of this is fantastic. From the color, nose, palette and finish, it doesn’t miss. If you find this on the shelf, but it!

Dipping my toes into rye lately….I picked this up on a whim at SRP and told myself “well let’s see what a well-aged rye CAN be”. I’m a huge fan of this bottle. The nose is still hard for me to dig through, but the palate and finish are sugary sweet. I’m interested in Overholt stuff but can’t find it in my area.

The rumor is 98,000 for the bottle count. Has anyone heard or can confirm this? For perspective, anyone know the bottle count for let’s say EC 923. Trying to figure out my chances, still haven’t hit the shelves where I’m from.

Unfortunately, I recently (July 2024) just received an email from Compass Box - “This year, we’re saying goodbye to old friends The Spice Tree and The Story of The Spaniard”. Getting quality juice is getting more difficult and one of the reasons that the blenders are getting into the distillery business. Will miss these blends.

Great review Cameron. I’m in So. California. Bought 2 a month ago and they’re still everywhere here, not allocated at all. I loved KC cask strength rye, haven’t found a suitable replacement for that yet (Old Overholt rye cask strength was too nutty and not complex enough) but this is the next best thing.
