It was the Summer of 1993, first week of August, and I was in between junior and senior year of high school, riding on an Amtrak train going from NYC to Denver, CO when the news was announced that 10,000 Maniacs were breaking up 😢.

So glad she is actually LIVE and not singing to a backing track like so many supposed live performers these days. Hard to believe this was recorded over 26 years ago. Still holds up well. Sadly, she hasn’t done much since then .

My how you've grown I remember that phrase From my childhood days too, "Just wait and see" I remember those words and how they chided me When patient was the hardest thing to be Because we can't make up for the time that we've lost I must let these memories provide No little girl can stop her world to wait for me I should have known At your age, in a string of days, the year is gone But in that space of time it takes so long Because we can't make up For the time that we've lost I must let these memories provide No little girl can stop her world to wait for me Every time we say goodbye You're frozen in my mind As the child that you'll never will be You never will be again I'll never be Be more to you than a stranger could be Every time we say goodbye You're frozen in my mind As the child that you'll never will be You'll never will be again Every time we say goodbye You're frozen in my mind As the child that you'll never will be Will be again
What a magical voice. Just wow. I appreciate their music even more in 2024 than i did in the 90s.

What’s amazing is that VH1 and MTV aren’t even a thing anymore. They dominated the 80s and 90s.

Everyone thinks "Nah, I wouldn't get sucked in by the sirens and smash me ship on the rocks!" You would if the Siren sang like this! Glorious Goddess. Listening in the last days before the beginning of Civil War 2/World War 3.
