With regards to the EPA..... I was watching a PodCast with Greg Banish (Calibraged Success and OEM Calibrator/Engineer) as the guest. He was saying that the emissions of current automobiles is cleaner than the cleaniness of "ambient" air in many places. Two points to make from that statement: It would be nice to see current regulations held steady or even reduced a bit as we have approached the point of diminishing returns. Second, if the current emissions are as clean or cleaner than ambient air, why the need for EV's?

I have two thoughts on this. 1. Environmental problems are GLOBAL. Not something the US can fix on our own. We've hindered business more than necessary already without much return as you point out. 2. The EV push is one of the biggest scams in our history. Look at some of the stock holdings of those voting for these EV mandates and you'll see why there was such a push. After you mine the minerals, build the cars, life cycle them out, and have to deal with the dead batteries I'd be surprised if they're any more enviro friendly at all in the end.

We're both engineers, so I totally understand the economics of an infinitely configurable screen and software vs old school "steam gauges". I'm like you, I like dials, I like gauges, I like buttons..... not fan of touch screens. I have my White '12 RT with cloth interior and the Super Track Pack as the only option and I have my Sinamon '20 Red Eye that's pretty well optioned - you've seen me run both at Beech Bend, but I far and away enjoy the stripped down, ultra basic RT more than the Red Eye at the track. Muscle doesn't need to be decked with a bunch of options. Power windows, locks and mirrors. Tilt Wheel, Cruise control and A/C ..... that's all I need Lookin' forward to the '25 race season and hangin with you at Beech Bend.

I think they’ll bring out a OHC with a Hemi head to combat Ford’s Coyote platform. And I could see the OHC Gemini motor that’s in the new ZR1 trickle down and maybe bring the Camaro back. Pushrod is cool but I can see OHC being the new paths for domestic V8 power.

They need to make a 11to 1 double over head cam roller double cam with a dual full race throttle body half covering 4 cylinders and other half covering other 4 cylinders and for these dual throttle bodies to be totally adjustable in the car this is the future next 4 cam hemi full race engine with dual throttle body both engines external oil coolers

After the yellows on a pro tree is it a random time? Like is there a set time after the staging lights or is it a completely random time? Or is it a random time between, say 3 seconds or whatever?
@SpeedysGarage7 сағат бұрын
It depends, sometimes a person is manually starting the tree and the time between the three yellows and green is usually .4 seconds. There is also a timeout if one person stages and the other doesn't.

the 1970 barracuda (3rd generation) looked nearly identical to the Challenger, and that's when it became a a bigger car, more of a muscle car. I'd argue that the second gen Barracuda 1967-1969 was still a pony car/sports car, and IMO was a better looking car in the fastback option. I think Dodge could compete directly with the mustang by focusing on the second generation Barracuda fastback. Have the big charger for those that need 4 doors, or an EV. Keep the Barracuda small and light for those that want a pure internal combustion driving experience with manual gear box in an American iconic sports car. It's really a no brainer, if you look at the market share the mustang has globally, it really shouldn't be that hard for Dodge to build something to compete, they have all the pieces just gotta put them together!

11:59 YES, EXACTLY, "i personally HATE that". exactly what i always say, i understand that not ALL of the modern facilities can fit into a dashboard with buttons, or atleast be convenient, but i still want buttons, i still want my analog gauges and switches and all, i cant stand all this touch screen crap, i dont like relying on software for things i'd rather interact with physically ESPECIALLY when i dont trust digital aspects with age well overtime, not cosmetically or functionally, and should anything happen to the electronics, i have no means to do jack squat about it because im dont do computer science. I like muscle cars, i want stuff that moves, spins, pumps, clicks, things my hands can believe exist in the vehicle that i can think "if anything happens i know how easily (or not) i can replace it myself", i like to think that if i found the car as a barn find it'll feel organic to bring back to life, but touch screens everywhere is SO IRRITATING. i DONT need this many screens, and if this is the future man...........i'm going to become a very angry and dissatisfied man in my later years of life because part of what i love about cars is the sensation of interacting with things that i can actual hold and FEEL the impact of, it feels right.

Dodge had several performance-oriented models in the late 1960s and early 1970s, many of which became iconic muscle cars. Here are some of the most notable: Late 1960s Models (1966-1969): Dodge Charger (1966-1969) - Famous for its fastback design, and by 1968, the aggressive "Coke-bottle" styling. The Charger R/T featured a 440 Magnum or the legendary 426 HEMI. Dodge Coronet (1966-1969) - Available in multiple trims, including the R/T with big-block V8s and Super Bee as an affordable muscle car option. Dodge Dart (1967-1969) - A compact car that became a muscle machine with the Dart GTS (383/440) and later the Dart Swinger 340. Dodge Polara/Monaco (1966-1969) - Full-size performance models that could be optioned with big-block V8s. Early 1970s Models (1970-1974): Dodge Challenger (1970-1974) - Introduced in 1970 as a response to the Mustang and Camaro. The Challenger R/T came with a variety of engines, including the 426 HEMI. Dodge Charger (1970-1974) - Redesigned in 1971 but remained a muscle car favorite. The Charger Super Bee (1971) was a high-performance version. Dodge Dart Demon (1971-1972) - A performance-oriented version of the Dart, featuring the 340 small-block V8. Dodge Coronet/Super Bee (1970-1974) - The Super Bee continued as a budget muscle car option. Dodge Monaco (1970-1974) - The high-performance Monaco 500 was available with powerful V8s. Special High-Performance Models: 1968-1970 Dodge Charger R/T - One of the most iconic muscle cars, often equipped with a 440 Magnum or 426 HEMI. 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona - Designed for NASCAR, featuring an aerodynamic nose and huge rear wing, powered by a 440 or 426 HEMI. 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A - Built to meet Trans Am racing requirements, featuring a high-revving 340 Six-Pack. 1970 Dodge Super Bee (440 Six-Pack) - A budget muscle car with a triple-carb 440. Dodge was a key player in the muscle car era, offering a variety of high-performance models that are now collector's items. Are you looking for a specific model or just exploring?

@ramcharger1978Күн бұрын
What Dodge needs is to go back to their roots in offering compact, midsize, and full-size cars. Dodge used to hop up their mid and full size vehicle into performance versions. In the 1960’s, 70’s, and 80’s they used to produce Coupes, Sedans, and station wagons for each platform.

It should noted the supercharger varies in how much power is required to turn it. I think whipple said when at low RPM and low pressure its only like 1 HP to turn it. Obviously if you're at full throttle and max boost then the required power to turn it goes up drastically but if you're just crusing down the street it takes very little power. Turbos also have downsides when they are full boost namely you have to prevent exhaust temps from burning them up which means the engine is usually running very rich to help reduce exhaust temps. This is why even tiny turbo engines have massive mileage drop when towing due to the tricks they have to implement to reduce EGT from burning up the turbos.

Challenger had a 2" longer wheelbase than a Barracuda. Speaking of E body only; the A body Barracuda was completely different. Bring back the Plymouth name, separate from d Feeyacht, sell.

That's a sweet looking 170! Damn, if I won the lotto, that's what I'd buy. As far as the plugs go, I'm sure you can just decrease the gap on the original plugs. I had to close mine dow to .023" because of spark blowout from the twin turbos. Lund tuning (my tuner) recommended that for me and it worked. I think I had mine set at .028" before that and I could feel it losing power on high revs.

Badge it Plymouth 'cuda. Give us a low cost Road Runner, no frills, very simple, as analog as possible, all money in the drivetrain, 2 door hardtop, 5.7L hemi, no options. Then offer a GTX with loads of options and 6.4L hemi. Finally, make the top-of-the-line 'cuda Hellcat with revised nose and tail. Something for everyone with lots of room for aftermarket growth in Road Runner.

I would love a new gen hemi with turbochargers for better power efficiency. Hell, a twin-turbo V8 hemi with a AWD hybrid assist would be AMAZING. Imagine 700-800HP with a V8 making 25-30MPG! Put all that in a new AWD Challenger, and thats my dream car!

This kind of thing is fine for performance enthusiasts, but the simple fact is, Chrysler wasn't built by Hemi v8, or muscle cars. Chrysler was built on slant 6 Valiants and darts, and later on 2.2 L four-cylinder k-cars. The V8 platform is effectively dead, and in the future, it will not be big displacement V8 that rule the streets, it will be highly boosted smaller displacement engines, and hybrids. On Woodward avenue, the streets will be ruled by Electric cars, which are always going to be faster I would be more impressed as to Lantus commits to building a family of inline 4 and 6 cylinder engines on a common platform, using common tooling, possibly the way caterpillar is going, with one platform operating in both Diesel and gasoline fuels. Light trucks should have a 4-cylinder turbo diesel, which could probably deliver miles per gallon in the 30s, add an affordable price. It's actually an embarrassment that the only thing that keeps Ram trucks relevant is a diesel engine supplied by a heavy equipment manufacturer.
