These Foxbody Thunderbirds are highly underestimated and unappreciated by many. I had an 86 turbo coupe, an 85 Thunderbird with a 351 Cleveland and a top loader 4 speed, an 88 with a 5.0 automatic, and an 87 Cougar XR7 woth a 5.0 and a T5 swap. Most fun I've ever had was in those cars.

I have an 87 gt with 5 speed, and I also have a 89 lx convertible wit a 5.0 automatic . The suspensions are different between the GT and LX. GT is stiffer and lower has better handling.

I just picked up an immaculate 1998 Cobra, that needs some suspension parts

Nice! You are absolutely correct on the wheels. Things that radically changed my 89: New edge control arm/spindle/calipers rebuilt with poly bushings. New rack and tie rods to match (all new Edge for the wider stance). Adjustable front struts (KYB AGX). Should not have to say it but subframe connectors.

Its this reason but theres also another reason. You dont see to many foxbodys on the street often racing cause nobody can compete with them unless they in a vette or a camaro or something faster. A foxbody can be both chevy and ford which is why the car is hated cause it can be the best of both worlds

Straight up, wheels can make our brake a cars looks. I could not wait to change the wheels on my car. It took over a year to find the set I wanted.
