Don’t you remember your recent interview on 10s with a pro SA rugby analyst? He made a convincing case that although fans love flashy 10s, ripping it up at club level (in French context Jalibert), international 10s need a strong defence (Ntamack). Which of the two 10s is strong in defence (N has a high tackle rate and successfully jackaled near his own try line in the champions cup final), is accurate with the boot and can kick off both feet (N made a left foot try assist in the last Top 14 final), has a great big match temperament, is a great tactician with excellent spatial awareness, a good team man? I find the incomparable Squidge, a big admirer of Ntamack, who backs his opinions with illustrations, far more convincing than the “personal opinion of a UBB fan, who will get more clicks if he voices a controversial opinion. Do you expect Ntamack to leave Toulouse to prove to Huw Griffin how great he is? I think not.

The difference between the rugby championship and the 6N In the 6N your constantly told that your watching the best rugby on the planet In the rugby championship you actually have the best rugby on the planet to watch Sorry but the rugby championship is way better and frankly its not close
@zwet4269Күн бұрын
It's not better 😂. I'm South African and I don't think it's better. The only fixture that matters is Springboks vs All Blacks. I don't get excited about playing Australia or Argentina. There's a reason why South Africa and New Zealand are going to start touring each other. There's no value in TRC

@speak_your_truth.Күн бұрын
@andrasszabo1570 He didn't play badly. He was decent. My point is he doesn't deserve the hype he's getting as the 2nd coming.

@speak_your_truth. Most wingers don't deserve the hype they're getting (I played wing and fullback 😂). Atissogbe has shown great talent in club and U20 international. I'm thrilled he's there. I would trade him against a great prop of the same potential though!

Compared to Murley, making his debut as well, but in Dublin, it was surely easier for him but he is really very good and he might be an option for the left wing if LBB plays 15 and Ramos 10 since Penaud will be back

Pretty damn cool having two of the world’s best players in a particular position playing at the same club, learning from each others’ plays and moves, and then applying that to their own games. Not something you often see.

In the first half I thought "Maybe we can white-knuckle our way to a bare-minimum win. We've stonewalled Ireland really well, made some almighty score-stoppers..." and then it all. fell. apart. At least the blooding I'm so desperate for is technically still on 🙃

I was particularly happy at us making the ball unplayable in the ruck in the field of play. Proper finesse that took.

I loved the tactical analysis of why that Dupont kicked worked so well. I think you made a video a while ago about how we don't often get that kind of thing in rugby and how we really need to, and now I'm converted to the cause. All the similar talk in football has always been Greek to me, but I understood you perfectly well, and now I hunger for more lmao.

Do they have the players? Yes. But do they have the mentality? I'm not so sure. Last year, without Dupont, this team drew against Italy and were humiliated by the Irish. Sure, their golden boy is back, but he was there is 2023 as well, as was he is 2019, 2020, 2021.

With the Six Nations starting up tonight..it kinda puts a spin on the phrase "white line fever" doesn't it?. Looking up and down all the team selections...one will be wondering exactly what this player is doing in his spare time?. I guess rugby players think they're just a big as rockstars as the white powder gets passed around...

You missed out the bit around 2009 where the Russian government pressured the country's main rugby league teams, who had been thriving and entering European competitions since the early 90s, maybe even late 80s at a push, to move over to union; i.e. Lokomotiv were a leading league club that were made to switch, and who won the the union championship last year. The national union side did much better once these clubs and infrastructure were absorbed, and pretty much strangled the league game in that country down to what it is today. I think this is a major point in the history of rugby union in that country and had a major impact on their structure and their subsequent rise in performance at international level - not quite as much as getting banned did to their fall - but maybe not, think about where they were union wise before 2009 and where they are now in terms of rankings. So probably worth a mention in the video as to their dramatic increase is standard and why they ended up playing at a pretty high level in union in club and 7s rugby for a few years.

Very interesting video and I agree with most of what you say!! The coach situation is much to do with England not winning. The hiring of Felix Jones was a disaster and the new defence coach is not much better. i would like to see Austin Healy as the attack coach and given the task of generating an attacking identity - this would include dropping Henry Slade and using Tom Freeman at no 12 with Tom Roebuck at no 14

Agree, they're both developing at the moment, especially Prendergast is hardly out of the under 20s. Lot of potential there though.
