Hall of shame . It’s a silly thing that has little to do with real rock music. With the likes of Madonna in there pretty much proves my point.

White, Hot & Blue is my all time favorite JW album & Edgar Winter's White Trash is my pick for Edgar's best. (I know, who says album these days). I'm 63 & have been a Johnny & Edgar fan since I was 14 - 15 yrs old.

Went to a blues festival in Exeter in England in 2001 and was sad to find that Johnny had a stroke and was in hospital. But God bless him he came on stage and and waved to us fans . I was worried for him but heard he had made a good recovery. God bless him . Then got to see him at the now demolished Astoria club in London in 2007 . He was unstoppable and played and played, it was incredible Guitar playing. Think I got some of that gig on a small camera. He was a complete legend. A couple of nights ago I had the live album on , Bonie Moroni . You can't go to college to be like Johnny Winter , it's living it and he lived it . I always thought he looked great too , he was a one of a kind except he had a brother just like him . That live LP he is pictured playing on stage that is covered with white shagpile carpet , it looks like it could be the Elton John Dodger stadium gig

My first concert, 1972, Minneapolis, at the Depot, J Geils opened for Johnny and Rick Derringer, the 'Live and' tour. I'll never forget it, the whole band had to brush up against us to get on stage, they were really messed up. Tons of energy from both bands ! Love Johnny and Edgar !

Slumber Of The Beast. The most overrated Maiden album ever released. Gangland? Invaders? Why didn't Total Eclipse make the album or replace either one of those 2 horrible songs. The prisoner? The block of overrated cheese that is Run To The Hills? A benchmark? Oh...you Mean Piece Of Mind? Powerslave? Somewhere In Time was and will forever be the absolute peak of Maiden, they're equivalent to Metallica's Master Of Puppets. Number Of The Beast is just not that good Children Of The Damned, Total Eclipse, 22 Acacia Avenue and Hallowed Be Thy Name are the only songs that saved that album...the truth hurts. Killers blows it away. After Somewhere In Time though it was all downhill. We won't even talk about Seventh Synth.

I was lucky enough to see Johnny live four times. 1st time March 18, 1974 in Ft. Worth, Tx. @ Tarrant County Convention Center. 2nd time July 26, 1974 again in Ft.Worth, Tx. @ Tarrant County Convention Center. 3rd time Feb. 4, 1975 in Dallas, Tx. @ Memorial Auditorium. This one is special because he had two opening acts. The first opening act was Peter Frampton while he was making Frampton Comes Alive. Back then I only knew him as the lead guitarist for Humble Pie. I'd seen him playing with Humble Pie in Dallas twice before he went solo. Can't say if any songs from the Dallas shows made it on the LP or not, but it was cool when that LP came out and just blew up knowing I'd seen him opening for Johnny Winter. The second opening act was The James Cotton Blues Band. 4th time was Nov. 22, 1978 in a small venue called The Palladium in Dallas, Tx. I was able to watch him from just a few feet away. Every show was great. I still have 3 of his vinyl LP's Johnny Winter And Live, Johnny Winter 1969 and Still Alive and Well. I even still have my original ticket stubs to his shows, too. R.I.P. P.S. The R&R HOF is a sick joke.

His version of Highway 61 is one of the few Dylan covers that rise above the original. I also got into a lot of fights. The best solution is to stand up for yourself. Nice tribute!

The rock and roll hall of fame is an unmitigated JOKE. They've enshrined mediocrities and one hit wonders and completely ignored some unbelievably outstanding Bands. There is no rhyme or reason to who the decide to honor and they exclude more great acts than ever get admitted. They are truly PATHETIC!

I saw him play once, he came out and just proceeded to blow the doors off the doors off the place... he was deep into a long, ripping solo when you could see that little E string hanging off the neck of his guitar. Well, you wouldn't know it the way he was playing... and then...whack! There went the g string. Didn't even faze him, he kept playing that beautiful solo just like he wanted, as if he had all six strings instead of four. He was tough, man... he played a lotta guitars with busted up strings, and he knew how to handle that guitar. He was a great player, quite unique in his power and showmanship, I will always think of him with great respect and a fine memory of the time I saw him play live...

Just great and a shame that he's not in the RRHOF-saw him at Woodstock and a number of other places-most notably the Fillmore East. Whenever we got close to the Fillmore when he was playing we always started walking at a half run-the excitement was building for hours knowing he was playing. He ALWAYS tore it up!! RIP Johnny!!

who cares about terrified parents my mom likes IroN MaideN and has a huge studio album collection while i own their boxset cd studio collection as well tons of cd and lp bootlegs of 1977 to 1993 and thats it nothing after these years. my most expensive bootlegs on vinyl are shrine of luzifer which is west germany 1984 as well christmas wish bootleg which shows the piece of mind cover in yellow and the pink cover album which shows the first eddie on the lp cover. i noticed some of their bootleg art doesnt go with their tour year for bootleg lp's such as raiders of the lost rock which shows the hover car and somewhere in time eddie for the bootleg cover lp.

I was fortunate to experience Johnny's raw power live in person and it left me discombobulated. 90 minutes flew by like it was nothing. A full-on, psychedelic, almost trance-like musical climax like no other.

I found a copy of John Dawson Winter III at the public library (vinyl) around 1974. I was floored by the sheer power of his performance. Recently I set out to learn the solo from my favorite track "Self Destruction Blues". It's not note for note but I'll use it to pay homage to this legendary musician...kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqeklnmLp6inmZI
