The backrooms origin has now been found, which is an incredible discovery. Can’t believe the community has come this far so as to find the origin of the backrooms. Anyways just thought i’d point this out since the video pointed out that as of uploading it, the original backrooms photo was not found.

fyi for anyone what doesn't already know, the location of The Backrooms was finally discovered in May 2024 - it was part of a former furniture store in Oshkosh, WI shortly before it was converted by its new owners into a RC car racetrack.

As a Minnesotan, I have been to the Burnsville Mall. While I did not know about the mini golf course, that mall is always extremely empty. I’ve only been there once, and it felt abandoned. I only saw about three other people shopping, only about a quarter of the shops were open, and I’m being generous in that estimate, it was way less than that. My family and I were going to eat at the central food court, but only three of the restaurants there were open. It seemed to look a lot like the mall in the first level of Left 4 Dead 2, but without the zombies to keep you company

Idk if you will see this comment Jaden but there was this mall that was really active in the 80’s and 90’s and my grandma even worked there and a couple years ago I started going there because it would usually be by places that I was already going to and it was only 30 mins away but there was something special about this mall idk when it started happening but it was VERY dead every time I went there it would always just be me or maybe 2 or 3 other people and there was only like 5 shops still open to and I didn’t make any sense like why would they have shops with employees if nobody came there but this mall was EXTREMELY liminal specially because it was VERY dead and it reminded me of the centry 3 mall a lot and eventually a couple years ago they shut it down but the mall is still there in the spot it always was but you just can’t go in it

The origin of the backrooms has been found, and it turns out it was taken in 2002 by a worker at a go-kart race track, who took the photo right before they were renovating it to turn it into a track.
