I've always been a fan of cursed images, but it wasn't until recently when I asked: where did these images come from? Luckily for at least 10 cursed photos, I managed to find their obscure origins.

for anyone curious about "duct tape dummies" those are sent to fursuit makers so they can get the buyers size just right. however they usually dont involve a head or any attempt to make it look like anything other than a duct tape body suit so its a bit silly this person made a full on head and bunny tail for their dummy. we did get a pretty iconic cursed image outta it at least

@@PC-coolant-pipe-sucker the duct tape is cut off the body and sent to the maker to be used for more precise body measurements than just using a tape measure would. Think of it similar to using a plaster cast for a sculpture instead of carving it from scratch

@@PC-coolant-pipe-sucker you have to have somebody to help, but basically: you put on some old clothes and then cover yourself in duct tape. The other person will help carefully cut you out and then you send the duct tape dummy to the maker. Hope this made sense

@@PC-coolant-pipe-sucker so building on what was already said + my own knowledge, you basically try to create as close to a 1:1 outline of your body by duct taping over yourself and typically a cheap pair of sweats and shirt, then once you're essentially mummified via duct tape, you cut a seam in the back to escape from and then send the duct tape avatar of your corpse to a fursuit maker to get it sized specifically for you.

As an Estonian, I have I know one more cursed image’s origin. That being the origin of the interview with a deer. This image originates from a news Channel 3 broadcast where a deer has been reported to stay at a man’s field and they can do nothing about it. Then the guy holding the microphone gets close to the deer and then gives the animal an opportunity to say something.

@@JadenSalads the original 1998 furbys can only be bought secondhand (eBay is the most consistent source) There are currently 5 generations of furbys, ranging from 1998 to 2023! They are still making them, but not the ones you’re familiar with Dedicated fans of the originals have started figuring out how to make Furby parts from scratch using 3d printing tech. These so called “vegan” parts exist so you can longify a Furby without destroying an original 1998! (The scene for custom furbys is crazy cool!) But anyways I won’t bore you with a million paragraphs about furbys (I know an almost embarassing amount about them) Still, thank you for being interested in what I have to say! :)

From what I've heard, duct tape dummies are used to determine the exact size of the fursuiter since pretty much all fursuits are custom-made and have to fit the wearer. I assume the rest was done either as a rough way of showing what the final thing would look like or because the guy just felt like finishing it.

As someone deep in the trenches of the Furby fandom and Tumblr Furby community (what can I say, I love the little weirdos and I also love the creativity of the customizers who alter them), I just have to say that the commission prices that one artist was charging were *very* much a lowball, and probably a case of a newer artist undercharging for their craft. I usually see long Furbys sell for around $200 - $400, especially if they're made to order/customized in any way.

Theyre called oddbody customs and those who enjoy them sre highly encouraged to make and name their own, whether from a whole furby or from scratch with a 3d printed faceplate. One of my favorites is named Buttered Noodles, shes an icon.

I do want to clarify the duct-taped bunny image: A duct tape dummy is what is commonly used by furries in order to create a body dimensions reference when commissioning fursuits. Standard practice is for duct tape to be applied up to the neck, wrists, and ankles, and for it to be cut off down certain seams. It will be mailed to the maker, who will attach it back together and temporarily stuff it in order to get a customized fit for the commissioner. Fun fact: you have to t-pose while applying the duct tape, or it won't be shaped properly. This is also one of the reasons why fursuits are expensive: every one is customized down to the smallest detail, and why you can't get one off a generic e-commerce site. This guy, though, decided to take it much further for unknown reasons. Seeing as it's on FA though, he probably did it for shits and giggles

Just to comment on what a "Duct Tape Dummy" is, typically you construct one as part of fitting for a fursuit or other full-body costume. After being wrapped in duct tape over a full-body painter's smock or other underlying layer and then getting cut out of it, you're supposed to stuff it with newspaper before shipping it off to the fursuit or costume maker. It's unusual to see someone make a duct tape dummy with the intent of wearing it.
