Try to tell this to Bill Gates who has expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of planting trees as a solution to climate change. During an interview, he described the idea that planting enough trees would solve the climate crisis as “complete nonsense.” He emphasized that while trees can play a role in carbon capture, the impact of mass tree planting is minimal compared to other technological solutions for carbon capture and reduction. How wrong is this kind of approach? Carbon caputure is only small factor to fix problem caused by greenhouse effect. If we learn more about nature and take solutions directly from nature we would fix problems we caused much faster and much more effective. We need to change our mindset from „pain killer” focus to permanent removal of root cause of the problem. The main solution in fixing problem with climate change is to regenenerate our planet water cycles. What we need is decentralized solutions and regenerative approach replacing extractive economy which dominated our world and is still supported by the richest and most powerful including governments.
