Very interesting ideas! Who will plant these billions of trees? Never forget that the US killed one of the very few leaders who was concerned and actually worked on greening North African deserts - and his country Lybia was bombed from 21st century straight back into medieval times. Now they have things like slavery again.

I think global warming will help you out. This year parts of sinai mountains had cloud cover for 7 months. And more rain than usual. Or it might just be la nina...
