Get rid of that deck mate, I can't believe you ever use it. Waste of good solar real estate!

That’s where we store all our long surfboards when travelling around, so although it looks like wasted solar space it is in fact we’ll utilised space.

I used solar on an extension like you did and I can vouch for what a great idea this is! It's great for parking in the shade on a hot day and having the additional solar panels out under the sun. Also you get charging all day not just when the sun is overhead which like you said doesn't always happen in winter. btw , check your audio.
@MrSpaceace19994 күн бұрын
Yup I did the same you can move it to catch the sun
@saltyvanventures4 күн бұрын
I think it’s going to be a game changer. So many times we were parked in a spot under a tree or with shadow on the panels and unable to maximise the sun for the day.

Good decision to put that fridge. it definitely will allow longer off-grid periods. Are you planning to upgrade the water tank as well? Or do you find it large enough for your needs?
@saltyvanventures11 күн бұрын
Yes very happy I made the decision! It has passed my mind to upgrade the tank capacity, it’s just a matter of where as there isn’t too much real estate left under the van, unless you join together a few small tanks. Ive pretty much maxed the tank storage locations. It’s a possibility to move the spare wheel and house it on a rear wheel carrier and add a tank there 🤔

I wouldn’t be able to tell you the exact amount as I just measured it up there. If you put two shins on either side on the roof and then lay a flat bar across the two, you will see the gap, this is the inverse of what you need to cut off.

I would prefer an indoor shower and toilet because I would not want to take a shower outdoors in the winter (I am assuming the van is designed to travel all year round). I also prefer to have a cabin for the toilet. I like to have a bigger seating area so the bed should be a convertible - you could leave the bed out if you have no guests coming - but a sofa and table for 4-6 people would suit me better. I would also put the cooker on the side of the door. I like everything else about the van.
