В целом не плохой обзор... Но видно , что автор тяготеет к авиации и на этом фоне многие интересные работы (не авиация) были показаны вскользь, или проигнорированы.

For those who may be interested. This is exactly the same kit as Trumpeter's K-4, which just has the extra landing gear covers. The instruction sheets are exactly the same - except they call out the area to remove for the rear landing gear in step 13 and where to insert the new cover instep 28 and in step 31 they show you where to insert those main landing gear covers. A bit annoying considering the many cockpit differences. Engine bearers are incorrect and should be the same as in the earlier G mark. Apart from the fuselage parts, tail rudder etc, every other sprue is from the G-2 kit. (The same parts in all Trumpeter's 109's, but they would be).Shame they never gave the option for the kidney shaped wheel well covers and short tail wheel for the G-10, considering they are present (obviously) in Trumpeter's G-6.

Zvezda is bad by zvezda standards, seamlines everywhere, poor fitting clear parts. Trumpeter looks dull with recessed rivets, AMK kit is badly molded. So IMHO there is no mi 17 / 8 worth building. EDIT: having seen a decent build of the Trumpeter, I do think that one is worth it.

Great looking kit..strange they didn't include marking for British tanks in Burma who used them extensively
@anthonymather91562 ай бұрын
Considering British and commonwealth forces got thousands of them it would have been nice if they had supplied a blanket box for the back of the turret which were a feature of them in use by British/CW forces. Instead they provide a rare example of one without. Lucky I have two resin ones in my stash.
@frontlinemodelhobbies6532 ай бұрын
Did not know that, at least it is future reference for those who may want this kit. That is good news you have a resin replacement👍👍

Cool trivia. The Chinese tanks had mixed cewws of US and Chinese. I for one will get it. Lots of different schemes and i am a fan of Polish armor and the Canadien tank in Sicily or Italy. Nice stuff.
@frontlinemodelhobbies6532 ай бұрын
That is very interesting, did not know that they had mixed crews, thank you for the info👍👍 I totally agree that the Sicily and Italian campaigns are very interesting to model. I also like the Malta and Greek island campaigns👍👍

It's about time the m4a4 got a modern kit . It had a lengthened hull with different bogie spacing because of the engine choice . Britain had to supply the engine's, hence multiple bus engines arraigned in to a radial shape . Sod working on that when it broke down . Thanks for the review. M
@frontlinemodelhobbies6532 ай бұрын
Thank you for the info, very interesting that we supplied the engines and they were bus ones. Yeah the kit looks very nice so should go together with no problems. Thank you as well for liking the review👍👍
@TheSaturnV2 ай бұрын
Not sure where you got your info regarding the A57 Multibank engine. This was created and built by Chrysler in the US, using 5 x 6 cylinder flathead car engines. Now, if I understand correctly, British engineers tinkered around and greatly simplified the ignition and fuel system which made it a very reliable power unit. Like the P51 and Sherman Firefly, yet another terrific Anglo-American collaboration.

Part K5 is that funny-shaped piece which fills in under the right side of the turret....does it fit better than the Orochii/Kinetec Bradley's?.... Do you have a MENG interior to check fit?....THANKS! Tell your sponsors you sold another kit!....Oh, steal some rubber band tracks from an old Tamiya Bradley, if you don't like the link&length! lol
@frontlinemodelhobbies6532 ай бұрын
Not sure on the fit of that part and comparing that to the Meng version. Hopefully someone who has both kits can let you know better than I can. Hahaha, I think this kit will be a great seller, got a few who have pre ordered it from ourselves. Just make sure you do not pay over the RRP and get scammed👍👍

Gecko is absolutely awful. Building it now, wish i'd bought the Airfix. Plastic isn't durable at all, very brittle, sprue attachments are overly large so every part needs a cleanup, even with Stedl pro snips. every fitting is a fiddly chore. Cannot fault it for attention to detail, but making this made me question my life choices.
@JamesMackenzie-sx2bu2 ай бұрын
Lazy - no interior. But they use some interior parts? RFM have never had an interior King Tiger so it appears they have bought the moulds from Takom? What they have then done is just add a few bits of their own - slow clap! The timing of this release after the excellent and multitudinous versions of the Takom kits is dreadful. Bottom line - there is nothing to see here. Just a very hackneyed item perhaps to get rid off some excess sprues
@JamesMackenzie-sx2buАй бұрын
Edit. There will be an interior released later. TBH it’s too late for this release given the MENG / TAKOM kits. A strange executive decision

@frontlinemodelhobbies6532 ай бұрын
It looks a lovely kit, hope it goes together as well as it looks. I am the same as you, full interior kits in armour is sometimes a wrong way to go, and I think that this kit is better as being what it is without interior👍👍
@Scarebus_Driver2 ай бұрын
Hopefully its betterthan the poorly shaped Skyhawk. The undersize cockpit where correctly scaled Escapac seats dont fit by a long way point to a far bigger issue with the front end and yea they fit the Hasegawa kit. When copared the Hasegawa kit is quite a bit bigger in the cockpit area and MCC who measured up the Escapac seat directly found the issue. Was relatively impressed with the Corsair even with heavy panel lines, the Skyhawk was a huge letdown hopefully the Bradley gets them back on the rails.
@frontlinemodelhobbies6532 ай бұрын
I know what you mean, but I did not mind the Skyraider, but for me wrong mark. The corsairs had big panel lines as you say and the rivets were a little odd, but I am liking their armour and the Bradley. Thank you for the heads up👍👍

Is this to model a very late war, King Tiger. I ask this because there are a lot of spare track hangers on the sides of the turret. I would want to build a tiger from kampfgruppe peiper December 44, and none of those Tigers had that many spare track hangers. Thank you.
@axesspeaklouderthanwords80772 ай бұрын
Pretty much yes being a VERY late Tiger II though its seems they have included parts to back date it to what your looking for.. 9 teeth sprocket are on the sprue but alas you'll have to sort a set of different tracks. On the spare track hangers you might have to eyeball location of the hangers as the tracks again are different being a 2 piece affair but looks simple enough ( (without seeing the turret closely they RFM might have placed faint spots for that kind of track arrangement). Give it another say six months and RFM will have what you'll be looking for I'm sure my friend.
@davidarmstrong75492 ай бұрын
@axesspeaklouderthanwords8077 thank you for your help. I imagine you will probably be correct and that they will release a tiger 2 from the period I'm looking for.

Sprue X - The clear nose Sprue - with 2 CLEAR additional nose choices - is the Eduard addition. The grey moulded nose is the pre-existing HKM B17F inclusion. Get it together. Maybe you should actually familiarise yourself with the parts included in the Eduard #11183 offering before you actually post a review 🤔
