Very nice! As a hardware tech entrepreneur it's really difficult to find content of this kind online so thanks for the upload! How much did this prototype cost to put together/ what's a typical prototype cost for a product of this kind with significant electronics, structural components etc?

Glad you found it helpful. Starting from scratch, the development cost would be £100k - £200k depending on the complexity of the electronics required, how much was develop by the manufacturer and how often you changed your mind!!

Tesla's are made in 3 locations globally to best serve their respective markets, take advantage of government tax breaks and avoid punitive import duties. If you're manufacturing on that scale, this video isn't that useful to you and you won't be needing it. If you're one of the 99.99% of other companies manufacturing product that can't afford multiple production bases, then you might want to consider the content of this video!

hey there .. midjourney looks great for product and image designing .. may I please ask ? Once some of the basic product design is achieved with midjourney and the blend too feature .. how do I then go about preparing let’s say 8 different images of this product that has various angles and variations of the product so that I can upload them to the Amazon listings page ? Is midjourney able to achieve and create these type of product images that display and show the product from different angles ready to upload ? how do I go about achieve this please bro 😎 ? and also how do I go about using an ai software tool that specialises in infographics ? Is there a good ai software that you know is good for this ? cheers mate

Hi there, sorry for the slow reply. Unfortunately I can't answer either of those questions. I haven't managed to find a wa to get AI to show me different views of the same product without it changing the product frustratingly! Infographics isn't something I've explored either I'm afraid. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hi, what will you say about a product that need no marketing? How much that product will be of worth?
@ProductInnovationAcademy24 күн бұрын
It would be hugely valuable if there was a good margin on it! Haven't ever seen a product yet where that is true though... Even iphones, where thousands of people queue to get the latest one, are the subject of huge global marketing campaigns and Apple has a massive existing customer base. So if Apple needs marketing then surely everyone else does too?

Wow big questions! Check out this video on validating ideas that might help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/on2vkoWheZiIbpo Design of a product makes people stop and consider it. But then pricing kicks in and unless at a desirable and affordable price, your sales are likely to be low. Validating ideas is not easy and lots of people will get this wrong I'm afraid. An examiner will assess it against novelty, usefulness and various other criteria. You then have a chance to respond to any objections. Normally the scope of protection gets significant refined and narrower during this process but hopefully you can get something through to grant.

Thanks Phil, very helpful video. How much data do you need to convince a 3rd party that your product is commercially viable? Typically, what is a minimum sample size for both quantitive and qualitative market research? I’ve previously spoken to your company and will be in touch again soon.
@ProductInnovationAcademy3 ай бұрын
Depends obviously but I'd say anything is better than nothing. Ideally you've sold 500 - 1000 products. That the best data for obvious reasons. Quan - probably upwards of 500 but at least 250. Qual can be smaller. Depends more on quality. For example, if the senior nursery buyer at John Lewis has given insight into the nursery market backed-up by a leading nursery distributor then you might not need much more than that. But if 2 mates have given opinions then you will probably need a few hundred more opinions from people without detailed insight. Might be best to get back in touch and have a quick chat about the specifics of what you want to achieve?

INVENTOR, READ THIS: The problem with patent attorney is they don't talk about cheaper options. They don't talk about +99% of patent customers who will never make more money then what they invest to get the patent. They don't care if your idea is stupid and has low chances to get into the market. They only look at it to know if there is a chance to issue a patent or not. They don't talk about PPA for 65$ in USPTO. And if they do, they will charge you $$$$ to draft it. If you want to DIY a PPA, they will discourage you with fear to you getting a weak patent later. They won't talk about how expensive it is to defend your patent if you get infringement.
@alexandrevaliquette38834 ай бұрын
For 99% of small independent inventor, patent is a terrible waste of money. First, keep your invention secret (or under NDA), then, file a PROVISIONAL PATENT APPLICATION (PPA). It cost 65$ and you can do it yourself in regular english. It's from USPTO (USA patent office). You don't have to live in USA to apply. (Google how to file a PPA). This will give you the "Patent Pending" status in most of the country for 12 month as a priority date. You then have 12 months to find a partner or license your idea. After the 12 months, you either have to file a real patent (country of your choice) or file another PPA. As long as you never did a public disclosure, you can file another PPA.

I believe you have a fair point overall. Also, important to notice that if I’m not mistaken the 2021 limitation is not accurate anymore. Plus, not sure if it’s a “HUGE” problem to have AI taking inspirations from the web considering you feed it with your concept as well. Basically you just proved that your own “creation” was not original in the first place. That’s not an AI problem, right?
@ProductInnovationAcademy4 ай бұрын
I take your point. But there is a huge problem if you think that ai is creating a unique concept for you when actually it isn’t. You could end up infringing someone else patent or registered design and make it impossible to protect your concept from other people copying it risking the investing you’re making in NPD.

Glad you are finding them useful! China is still the best place for consumer goods with little margin. For textiles Vietnam or India are good options but still more expensive. Hi What if you don't have the money to pay for the product design? I have an idea but don't know where to start and think it has potential as I've researched and cannot find anything like it
@ProductInnovationAcademy7 ай бұрын
It’s very very difficult to get anywhere if you don’t have any money to pay for professional product design. Persuading friends and family to invest is probably the best way. Grantfunding is often match funded and you have the pay the cost and claim back anyway so you need the money up front. Also most grant funds are oversubscribed and you won’t be successful without paying for professional help to apply. Investors will want to see patents, prototypes and ideally proof of market which will all cost money unless you are highly skilled in all those areas and can do the work yourself. Sorry it’s not better news.

Very interesting Video! Ai is such a great tool for product design! Impressive what can be done already!! I work in the watch industry and I must say it's much harder to get useful result for that kind of product.. it's several month I'm working on that and only now I get some useful results that are more than just inspirational. I created tons of concepts, but they need a lot of work to get translated into something that can be presented or even produced. Mood images and design concepts are much easier. Context images (wristwhots for inserting watches) are doable, but a lot of trial and error is needed. Ai is evolving at a blazing speed! I'm very curious what will come in the next months and years. By now I must say, watches have too many details and technical constrains.. it will take some time to have Ai to be really helpful..
