Thanks guys for the comments. I was on vacation and heard a rattle like a bearing was going out in the fan motor. It was coming from the dash and ac console. I ruled out fan motor because turning off ac the rattle continued. Sounded like a loose rod and kind of a squeaking sound. It was very annoying. I checked the battery bracket like some commented on and it was a screw at the very bottom. It was loose I finger tightened as I did not have tools but that fixed it. I’m glad I didn’t tear the whole dash apart. Wish I could attach photos to show. I had to look down deep at the base screw of the bar that supported the top bar that ran across to keep battery in place. The end of that top bar screw is close to dash. I couldn’t believe it would cause such an internal sound. I even drove with the doors down and didn’t hear it. Thank you all

My rattle comes after 4x4 in the mountains. I have tight suspension and raised made for that sort of leisure. My rattle started the day after and starts when you start rolling down smooth road. It seems to com from the center near AC controls. It is also hard to pinpoint. I have removed debris from fan motor one time which was a very uncomfortable job. I will give this a try when I get home. Thanks for the video. 10hrs of this rattle is going to suck but maybe can find a decent tool kit that can work at a loves station or something

Location looks a bit sketchy, which will affect the value significantly. The rear yard being paved over is bad and a car rail installed. Is there a drop off behind it or a roadway? If you take this on, it's start at the top by replacing the roof and work your way down floor by floor. All this is assuming it's structurally sound. Heating system will likely need to be replaced and of course there is no AC. Electrical is a complete redo and you need to trar out all the plaster and lathe due to the mild and condition. Are you rocking it or restoring? Lot of work, Lot of money.

This is a very useful video as I may have to do this. The dealership couldn't even find my problem. I'd rather replace this than the entire motor wiring harness. My truck is throwing up prompts saying trailer brake, stabilitrak, and a couple others and doesn't start when giving me these prompts. Could this be a bad relay?? (I hope someone has an answer that can help, this has been a pain in my butt and "professionals" couldn't help me)😥

Nice video, have the 2015 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3 with 107,000 miles ... What I've found that mitigates/stops the clunk is a function of how one takes their foot off the gas ... When accelerating, decelerating or coming to a turn or stop DO NOT take your foot fully off the gas but instead take it off 95% for just a second to allow the trans and rear end to do it's thing and not clunk ... Yes it works ... At first it will take some time to train yourself but then you'll do it without thinking about it ... ...You're welcome ...

I was thinking about selling my single cap v6 short bed Silverado but the comments made me stick to it . Extra point: the air conditioner is very good For climates where temperatures are high ,in Bahrain(middle east)the temperature can be more then 45 degrees C around 113 degrees F in the summer. Sorry if I have spelling mistakes. I don't speak English that much , I hope you get the point.

2016 Silverado, Mine sounded like it was behind the info radio screen in the middle area, kind of. Found this video and also read some comments. I had two of those screws to have walked out some. And a bolt was real loose on the fender support over the battery. 100% fixed the rattle....Gone

I was having issues with my wiper switch turning on my headlights and wipers moving slow. I have a 2016 GMC 1500 Denali 5.3 and my part number for my underhood fuse block was: 84075773. Just FYI for anyone that the number in this video won't work on the Denali. Thanks for the how-to video it is an easy job to swap.

OK. Found the problem. There is a Buss Bar in the fuse box that attaches to the battery. It has a 400 amp fuse that is not replaceable. Check to see if you have power at the cable side. If not you need a fuse box or if you are handy remove the box and install a 400 amp mega fuse from the buss bar to the stud for the cable. This will require drilling a hole in the buss bar. I have no idea why my blew but thats what I found.

Huge appreciation for the video, my 2018 has the same flickering issue and sometime will randomly call people or change my music or get me directions to Peru (one time). Did the new head unit fix your issue? Also, were there issues connecting your phone via usb to use CarPlay and keep your phone charged? Mine also has these issue

How about your oil pressure? I have an 09 silverado with 118.890 miles and have about 25 psi while driving and 5-8 psi while idle. So pretty low... I did a motorflush with medic motor, changed the oil pressure sensor and filter under it, pickuptube o-ring, and clean the filter on pickuptube too. Still same pressure after all work so im going towards a new oilpump. Seems pretty low milage to me for a new pump already though... Loud ticking sound from the lifters and my 6l80 have a hard time to find 2nd gear very often.. They not built like they used to. 😕

Great video... I have replaced mine now but have a question... there are several fuses on the new box that I did not have on my original... should I match the new one up to the old one? Will there be extra draw on battery from the new fuses that are not being used?
@TheBrothersWorkshop
@TheBrothersWorkshop 28 күн бұрын
Before you remove anything make sure that your truck does not need them. Your owner's manual can be used to reference what each fuse is for..
