How much paint/ primer have you used per wheel? Thanks
@DonTruman18 күн бұрын
I was trying to find the style of scraper you used to spread the patch. Finally found it: looks to be intended for auto body repair, "Body Filler and Putty Spreader." Looks like it's good for this kind of work. Better control of it, and the angle might be better for your hand when working on a wall, especially when it's up high.

I get that it needs a lot of time to do it properly. My concern would be how long the vehicle is out of action for, if I did it. Great Video all the same👍
@How2EveryStepАй бұрын
@johnwarner4513 I did sanding and primer on day 1, then 2nd primer coat, silver base coat and clear coat on separate days. So put the wheels back on the 5th day. Some people use a heat gun to dry the paint coats quicker, so that is always an option. thanks how2everystep.com

@@How2EveryStep I'm curious how long does day 1 process take per wheel? That is sanding everything and primer. I'm thinking it would be better to get all wheels done at once rather than 1 by 1.
@How2EveryStep22 күн бұрын
@DonRade Hi there. I would say half hour per wheel to sand and apply first primer coat. So 2 hours for a set of 4 wheels. If you can do without your wheels on the car for a few days, I would certainly say prep and paint all the wheels together. thanks how2everystep.com

8:50 This is a terrible design. The 250 watt power handling starts to drop off at 90 hz due to the 5mm cone excursion, and continues until it can only handle 41 watts between 40 and 50hz. One of the very first things you have to look at when doing a speaker design is the power limited by X-max.

@@grizzly6385 The design starts out using a driver with only a 5mm of X-max. which as designed, would have shown to have a terrible power handling due to the limited travel. But then when he gets to showing the part where it shows cone excursion, he swiches to a driver that has 16mm of x-max 11:40

FOR EXAMPLE : MY DESIGN REQUIRES 4 ROUND SHAPE OF 6.80 CM DIAMETER , WITH A LENGHT OF 54.16 CM , DOES THAT MEAN THAT EVERY SINGLE PORT HAS TO BE 54.16 CM , OR DO I DIVIDE THAT IN 4 ( AMOUNT OF PORTS ) AND THE GIVEN RESULT WILL BE THE REAL SINGLE PORT LENGHT ??? HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON , THANK YOU !!!!!

How do you work the other way? Say I build a box that fits the position and from there I have the Cu3 size how do I match a speaker to the box?.. I could add a port or ports, that wouldn't be a problem but how do I go about sizing the sub?

How can it be that you set Xmax to 5mm and in cone excursion its suddenly 16mm?
@davidstevens78095 ай бұрын
Problem is. Youre doing this totally in reverse. I was taught the understanding of the controlling variables first..,if you learn this you can tune a box and find port dia and length easily.. if you understand how to tune an empty ported box to a target frq. Then its simple.. ok.. ill get enemys here. With any given port dia.. ( give.) And any size box.. if you lengthen the port it tunes it lower..if you stick with any port dia and length.. if you increase box size..you tune lower.. if keep box the same and port length the same.. if you increase port dia..it tunes higher..thats all that matters. YES..IF ANY 2 VARIABLES ARE KNOWN. the box can be tuned with the last variable.. throw away your computer.. all you need is tone generator and no filters or eq involved.. play flat sweep into amp and watch the driver. Where it stops moving is tuned freq.. yes includes variables in vehicle the stupid math doesnt account for.
@How2EveryStep5 ай бұрын
Hi David. Thanks for your extensive reply. Indeed there are 2 physical sizing variables: port and box volume. Unfortunately the 2 volumes directly interact, due to the port volume occupying more or less volume inside the box volume. Hence, the video method shows how to tweak the 2 variables to achieve the required tuning frequency. Quite often (specially in car builds) the sub box max volume is set by the available max external dimensions, so at least this guides the iteration process. Thanks How2everystep.com

so nothings done for the backs of the wheel? If it's rusted to hell in the front and you just clean the rear it but don't paint it, it's a waste of time as the front will start rusting immediately from the back. i pressure washed my wheels to remove the rust on the backside of the wheel - removed the brown rust but then exposed all the oxidized Al which is not just waiting to rust up again - I'd recommend choosing a light like your primer color paint for the inside of the wheels, then a single chrome spray pretty heavy for the actual mating surface of the wheel to cover up the back of the wheels from rusting through. having said all that I've not finished 1 of my wheels but i know I'm going to have to do something about the back of the wheels as well.

Hi Rodney. I sanded the rear of the spokes to bare aluminium and primered. I then let the overspray of silver base coat and clear laquer coat the back of the wheels, so fully protected against future corrosion.
