Great video. One idea: identify the specific goldenrod species in each of the pictures as you discuss them. I kept asking myself, "what kind of goldenrod is that?"

Wonderful presentation. This went into much more depth than I anticipated. I learned so much about a plant that for the past 65 years, I had thought was just one variety.

Have there been efforts to breed snakes that show resistance to the infections? What cohabitating species of animals are consistent among all the infected ranges? Perhaps there is a correlation with a carrier species that isn't a reptile.

just randomly walking around lighting spot fires is not a good technique. Go along the edge and make sure the fire doesn't go with the wind but against it

At least 5 min of this is about flat top goldenrods , does mean all That flat it can have a liitle concave but it can also have a little of the opposite so it is not that flat it is nature these flattops that are not fllat , it would be more flatt"ish" if you know what i mean , it is not that precise, its nature after all these flattops , which are not flat as i mentioned, they could be either concave or convex or bla blabla blah blahblah blah blah blah blah , whats up with americans ??? why all that talking

I'm only about 10 minutes into this video. And already I am so grateful for it. I have the call of God to become a Christian Herbalist. And I'm ever so grateful for it. And it all started with God reigniting my love for sunflowers. Then I started to look into sunflowers and learned about their benefits and all these things that I didn't even think of. And then I started taking pictures of things that I thought were just weeds, to see what they are. It is just so amazing to me how God has covered our Earth with medicine. There is so much Goldenrod next to my apartment that is just so amazing to me. I am learning of all these things at I don't see, weeds. I see medicine. I see The God that knows exactly what He is doing! I'm ever so grateful for this call on my on my life. I'm learning so much already. This video was a great addition. I think you for this video.

Hey! I have a question....the goldenrod I have growing native in my area (SC) is coming up as Tall Goldenrod (Solidago Altissima). Do you know if this is one that I can save and dehydrate for teas and tinctures?

I do a pet fish rescue. Here in Florida we have a huge issue with people dumping thier aquarium fish in native waters causing huge environmental issues. I recently took in two sirens. They are larger than the ones you have here. I thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am learning how to care for them.

Wonderful video! I’ve learned so much by watching this. I have a live for turtles spawning from my childhood. I would love to help if I can. We cover all of the nests we find here with wire cages and monitor them daily to protect them from predators. I would like to use some of my land for rehabilitation of box turtles but I’m not sure how to get involved. Any information would be appreciated!

@PierceCedarCreekInstitute2 жыл бұрын
You can enter the photos into iNaturalist (obscure your location since this is a threatened species) or compare your photos with the identifying characteristics of spotted turtles (see link): www.herprman.com/species/turtles/spotted-turtle

Thank you for the information. My milk snake just recently passed away after only a year of ownership with most of the symptoms listed in your presentation. The reptile specialist at my local animal hospital believed her to have this condition the last time I took her to be examined.

I'm sorry to hear about your milk snake. Do you have any theory as to how it acquired the infection? Im currently going through the same thing with my Mexican Black Kingsnake. He's getting a PCR test on Monday for snake fungal disease. It is devastating.

@@trinkaduncan5875 no clue. Maybe something from my apartment I put in her enclosure? I only had her over a year and I notified the shop I purchased her from which is in close contact with our local animal hospital and has a sterling reputation for animal husbandry. But anything from in my apartment serving as decoration had been with me for some years and was adequately sanitized. We live in a new apartment too. Thank you for your condolences though. I cleaned her whole enclosure the night before with zoo med wipe out then aired it out and wiped it clean as per the nurse's instructions to remove anything the fungus could accumulate on and fully sanitize. She had been refusing food for 4-5 weeks and lost a good amount of weight prior to that, but she died the next day before I could try her new treatment.
@trinkaduncan58752 жыл бұрын
@Sadaway. Wow, I can't imagine how she could've contracted it. It sounds like you did everything right. In my case I've had my kingsnake for 3 years. He's been perfectly healthy until this summer when I moved him into a bioactive enclosure with substrate from a well known company. It's been downhill since. I hope we can find some treatment options, but there seems to be very little known about the disease in captive snakes. Im really sorry you lost your snake to illness. My heart has been breaking at the thought of it, but it is looking like the probable outcome. I wish I had never bought that substrate.

@@trinkaduncan5875 I had her in Aspen and the nurse said that really kills moisture in the tank? Idk I struggled to keep her humidity up above 50 sometimes in the colder months with the heat on in the apartment. But for about 3 months she remained stuck in shed and was only eating every few weeks until she passed. She developed some lessions around her neck which the doctor said was indicative of the condition
