No, kessy is the module that the key is programmed into.. Keyless Entry start and exit module... some of these have an ignition switch and a push to start button, but the module handles the keyless function such as unlocking the doors when you hit the remote button, and on higher versions, the car will unlock when you get close to it vis the antennas in the door handles.. Many cars have push button start, here the jetta could be ordered with a push button start back in 2012.. that car doesn't have a kessy, key data is in the cluster, there is a central module that relays info from the antennas, but the cluster is the gatekeeper.. 2008 and up Audi's have a slot key, some were ordered as push to start, those have a BCM2 that is in the rear of the car where all the key data is stored.. VAG is rather crazy... The turdegg, the porsche, the A7, all have a kessy module, they use a 7936 chip that is programmed as a 46 chip.. the A6, uses an 8E chip like a honda.. that is hwere the big issue comes in, no aftermarket keys were availible that had the 8E chip on the board, they would come with a glass chip and a seperate remote, remote and chip need to be one on the board so the remote programs in at the same time you program the chip...

Hello, I have BMW 325d CAS3+ module, the car does not unlock and lock without any keys, the car can be opened by LAUNCH, ISTA shows and leads everything to CAS, no antenna or keys are at fault. The software has an error in it, how do i fix or reprogram it as from factory? Also tried with older version CAS3+ module and everything works.

do you have the handles that have lines on them?? if so, go to the right side of trunk and look for the Comfort Access Module, it is on the right side of trunk up above the battery.. if your handles go bad, IE, they short out, it will knock out the remote portion of the keyless entry.. if it is a mechanical issue in the CAS, you can get the same part number and move data over from yours to the new/used module rather easy..

@@silinsss What usually happens is the antennas in the handles short out, sometimes you can unplug the handles and things work ok, sometimes they take out the module when they sort out..

really??? I wonder why they have the download on there website?? or why the dealerships still use it?? two months ago I had issues with Topix and finally got a call from tech support in England, great guy.. when I stated that the price of a one day subscription to Topix was higher than any other OEM, he stated that it comes with Topix, Pathfinder and SDD, so unless they changed it again, which very well could be, then it is still viable.. The only thing that got shut down was the access, if you don't have a subscription, your SDD won't update and you will get the screen that says, Because you haven't updated, these options won't be available... Thats why I bought a subscription... and as of yet, they won't even respond to my emails or the SIR I opened with NASTF.. Ever since TATA in India bought JLR, they really don't give a hoot about service in the US...

Wow, you need to reinstall the software, and if you are lucky enough, it will work. Most of time it's depending on the laptop's Windows operating. It's very unreliable software. Good luck!!

been using that original DOIP for about 4 years with SDD and pathfinder, and also now with TOPIX online.. if you go to the JLR dealer, it is waht they have been using for the last 5 years at least...

The easiest way I can think of is to pull the Skreem model, Immo box, out of the car and send to either me, or LAcartech.. If the data is good in the Immo box, we just read the data, program a key, then send it back to you.. if you send the original key, we just copy the cuts on that, when you get the key and immo box back, put the baox back in, and start the car.. after starting the car about 4 times, the remote starts to work..

I purchased it last year and it sat on a shelf for a while. Their support did not help me. Finally, I took it off the shelf and I use Autohex, and following their wiring diagrams I got it working. It’s actually very useful. I use it with inpa, ista, and standalone. It’s actually been a life saver for me. I connect it to my frm, jbe, CAs, and dme using ista.

it should, we have been doing the prox keys for a couple years, the bladed keys are the holdup right now.. you have to buy the RH850 programmer and read the BCM, then the program can make the key.. but a prox can be made via obd.. check out the software at abritesusa.com

Yes, I use Abrites... It is $1,500.00 for the intial setup.. and most of the special functions are included.. You can look at the Autel setup, $3,500.00 plus $1,200.00 a year for updates.. and it won't do a lot of what Abrites will do.. I am actually using VVDI prog to edit the file.. it's about $400.00 for that setup..

I didn't put this into boot mode.. with abrites you don't need to.. just read the data and use the ECU replacement tool... Even in boot mode these ECU's still have OTP, one time programable sectors in the flash.. Abrites is able to change other data so it looks like the original ECU...

You say you were able to read those two 93C 8 leg devices as well as the MCU, get the bin files from all three and send that data to LA car tech? I just spoke with Paul today and he is wanting me to send them the two modules but didn't offer an option for just sending them the bin files.

do you really think you can clear all the errors by disconnecting the battery?? if that was so, everytime you disconnected the battery, the CAS and the DME would loose sync .. the cas and the DME have memory chips that save the data that is written into them.. If it was that easy, there wouldn't be any shops replacing these modules.. dealers would go broke, kaos would ensue... But really, no you can't just disconnect the battery and have all the errors go away..

Do you offer a CAS3+ repair service? The CAS module is not bricked but it seems to be on its way out. When the car warms up it seems that the CAS might be overheating or something and not working, the first time it happened I pulled the CAS relay in the glove and it was hot, I let it cool put it back in and it started right up. Second and third time it happened I did the same thing but the car would not crank, I waited like 35-40 min tried again and it cranked right up. If you do provide this service I would love to have you repair it for me you seem to have a great understanding on how these CAS modules work. Thank you.

no we don't.. only to locals garages.. I would contact a local locksmith, they should be able to clone your CAS and then you can try that one and see if it is the problem.. My question is, does your car have comfort access?, where the door handles have squiiggly lines on them? we have had the handles, which are the antennaes go bad and cause issues..

Nothing in my comfort access system works, door handles, mirrors folding after locking and unlocking car, keyless start, etc... Thank you for the speedy response and info brother!

@@dannynavarro126 go find the Comfort Access Module, if it's a 3 series, look in the right side of the trunk, they are usually above the battery behind the insulation.. We have these a lot, when the antenaes short out, it causes the car not to start, if you scan the car, it shows a steering lock fault.. the Comfort module is in the circuit between the CAS and the steering lock.. we usually just unplug the plug on the module.. then ask the customer if they want us to troubleshoot the handles or just leave it unplugged..

sorry, most of us know how to rekey a lock, the biggest issue with this lock is how to take it apart.. If you don't know how to change out wafers, you should probably take this to a locksmith.. There pretty good at changing out wafers..

Yeah I know your right. But I've not been unable to do something yet if I can find a video showing it, from rebuilding 4l60e transmission to wiring home fuse box and soldering ps3 components etc. So I'm going check with a locksmith if they can do it or if I need to disassemble it first. I was just wanting to learn to do it all myself.. my moto is "If someone else can do it I can do it! Yeah maybe I can't dunk a basketball lol but most things when it comes to building or fixing I can just gotta find the video of it 😅

the chip that has the immo data is the 24C32 or 24C64 chip that is under the dials... Why wouldn't you just move data over using the cable? I have literaly done hundreds of clusters by putting on bench, read data from old, then read dat from new/used, then overwite the data.. you have immo data and coding data, if you move the immo data and the cluster is coded differently, you are going to have a blank cluster..

15 April 2024 Thank you for a good video. I rekeyed a 07 VW Rabbit ignition with the larger diameter black plastic collar you talk about at 5:10. I'm a locksmith on the west coast of Canada. Here's my notes and procedure: lookout for that black plastic semicircular piece of the buzzer relay. It and it's spring can come out of the pot metal housing easily. use a scratch awl to mark the relationships of the black collar to the pot metal housing so when you put it back together it will be in the same place as when you started. drill in same location around the perimeter as in the video ( so the hole ends up on the bottom when installed back in the ignition housing) drill right at the intersection of the large diameter and the small diameter of the black plastic antenna ring. clamp black plastic in soft jaws of vise. hold pressure on probe in drilled hole so it is always pushing down on the circular spring clip. twist/pull on pot metal housing while holding it gently with vise grips with them locked on the 2 flats on the housing. try to determine if probe is pushing down on the end of the spring clip. if it won't come out try turning the housing some to realign the clip and try again. it will come out. when it does the front anti drill will fall out - no worries it can only reassemble one way with it's 2 pins into the 2 holes on the plug face. As he mentioned the plug must be turned all the way clockwise for it to slide out of the front of the pot metal housing - this is because of a notch in the plug face and a corresponding projection of the housing. rekey using ASP kit # A-31-306. The key should turn freely with no binding. REASSEMBLY... you might need to clean up the circular groove in the black cap if your drill left bent bits of metal sticking out into it.....dremel and wheel. use tri flow on the spring clip and groove. put together using alignment marks you make before taking apart....push in on housing so it goes over the middle of the spring clip first then use a tiny flat blade to help the 2 ends of the spring clip to get into the groove. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
