Funny as when I was in during the 1980's, it was called 'APR'. Airman's Performance Report'. I guess the PC crowd had to change it. Also, the scores were 1 to 9, with 9 being the highest.

I've just met you on here Brittany, but am retired AF, so way to go! So proud of you and yes, being 25 -29 when you join is such a big advantage I feel.

Is there anything for veterans? I was looking to see what was issued now in bmt. I went through way, way back in Jan '75. Do I feel old, absolutely. Loved my jobs. Was in for 8+ years.

How hard was it to get on the joint spouse program for the Air Force? I’m thinking about joining Air Force, and my husband is active duty army.

So you enlisted with a degree. How often do enlisted folks with a degree get selected for ots?

My SKT was busted this year, super in-between the lines questions. I missed it by a quarter of a point last year without even studying. This year I studied my ass off and I’m not even sure I made the 40pt minimum. Good look to all those E4 mafia mfs testing this year. Hopefully your test makers this year aren’t as cunted as mine were

While enlisted spent nearly half of a four-year hitch in training. After completing the last tech school had a month's leave before going to first duty assignment in Korea. Stayed there until ETS.

I made E5 in June 1970. I was in Viet Nam when I took the test, tt was the old style fill in the blank with a #2 pencil Then room was basically a cover over some picnic tables with no walls. Naturally it was hot as hell and I dont kno0w if the sweat pouring off us ruined the the sheets. I guess I got lucky but it seems like there should have been some points given to us to equalize the scores for the guys (very few women at that time) taking the test in air conditioned rooms.

Hi! English is my second language. what resource do you recommend to study, to pass the test? Am like you I joined too late. I have the McMillan but also the promoted app. Did you think that both are the same? Because now that I have two they're different in the way that they ask the question.

I saw the backpack they issue has a DIYed name tape but because my spouse is active duty I have an official name tape, can I use my own or not? It’s a very specific circumstance but just wondering if anyone has advice on that

I joined the military at 32 as an E2, and now I'm 35 just made E5. Honestly, I was just at the right place, at the right time doing the right thing, and I had accelerated pretty fast considering some dudes been in forever. Prepare for a few of your battle buddies to turn enemies, even some of your previous NCOs that took forever to climb ranks will try and down play you, but be cool, try hard, learn quick and be competent. Surround yourself around good leaders you wish to emulate, pick their brains, take notes, learn and exercise. You'll be unstoppable.

While in DEP, did you ever refuse the job the recruiter gave you? If did, how many times? Does refusing the job cause DEP discharge? If so, should I find another recruiter after DEP discharge?
@wb2605
@wb2605 4 ай бұрын
If you refuse job that you listed you will be dep discharged if the recruiter wants to. If you get discharged you would need a waiver to join and they most likely will give you no choice at all when it comes to choosing a job

Having no village is definitely hard! Thankfully my husband is super understanding as he feels the loneliness of not being able to share our son with friends and family as much. I’m due with my second come August and we have to figure out who can even help with our son while we will be at the hospital. I all the parents I’ve met never truly keep in touch. I’ve tried so hard to build connections but I’m tired of not getting that same energy back 😅 Kudos. I know it’s hard. So nice to hear from you! ❤ I was originally a follower while you joined, thinking I was joining but then I found out I was pregnant, so, yep.. 😂
