EDITED FOR SPELLING ONLY There was 3 versions of this made for tv movie. 1.we saw him arrested in his delivery truck 2He was arrested inside his home in front of his family 3Ibseem to recall that he arrested for indecent exspore when someone saw him urinating in pubic?. The final scene makes one scratch theit head as he looks on his reflection in the pool and smiles...I wonder did he commit a few of the rapes?

Correction- This TV movie was made in 1983. Emmy nominated actor Peter Coffield tragically died of AIDS in 1983 at the age of 38. He'd just finished this TV movie pilot that same year which was to launch his upcoming new TV series by the same name "O'Malley.. He tragically died a few months later after finishing the movie pilot. A great talent we lost way too soon.

Oh wow. I had AIDS on my mind and then found a clip with Jamie Lee Curtis where she talked about doing Love Boat after finishing Halloween. So I searched for the clip. I didn't see and HIV/AIDS connection to these two thoughts.

When i was in 7th grade the Social Studies teacher played "The Man Without a Country" in class (an earlier version on 16mm) ..... It made a great impression on me - several weeks later as we exited class, the news was breaking in the school hallway that President Kennedy had been assassinated - and i thought, what dear God has happened to our Country? - I still feel this way today - only much stronger, and with much more urgency (curiously, JFK personally selected Cliff Robertson to play him in "PT-109" some months before his death)

I read the book the series was based on, written by Peggy Anderson, a pseudonym for a real nurse who worked in Cook County Hospital in Chicago. It was the first book written by a nurse about her real life experiences as a nurse.

Peter Coffield had just finished a TV movie in 1983 called "O'Malley" which was to launch his upcoming new TV series. He tragically died a few months later of an HIV related illness after finishing the movie. A tremendous talent we lost way too soon.

It's so sad that both Robert Reed and Peter Coffield who appeared in this series died from a diagnosed HIV related illness. Peter had just starred this same year 1981 in an Academy Award nominated movie "Only When I Laugh". In 1983 Peter had just finished completing a Tv movie which was to serve as a pilot for his new series in 1983 called " O'Malley. " Tragically he died just a few months later at the age of 38. A great talent we lost way too soon.

Well, its just an episode of The Love Boat, but for Jamie, it's better acting. Love Halloween, but only Donald Pleasance was really acting!
@steverogers26033 жыл бұрын
I haven’t watched the Love Boat since it originally aired when I was around 10. This is some pretty cornball material. No wonder Jamie Lee was so disappointed that this was the best gig she was offered after Halloween was a hit.

Been too long since I've seen this episode, because I don't remember it. Melissa Sue Anderson (Mary of Little House on the Prairie) played Gopher's sister. And this is in between Maude and Different Strokes for Conrad Bain. Just seeing on IMDB that he did another episode of Love Boat with Janet Leigh. He's Les in this one and Leslie in the second one. But Jamie isn't in the second episode.

Why did people looked so much older back then? I don't know why. Janet Leigh is only 50 here and Conrad Bain 54 yet I keep thinking they look in their 70s
@deroiste163 жыл бұрын
I agree but I feel like with Janet Leigh it was a combination of things, I think she had on and off bad health for years, plus she suffered from anorexia’s and bulemia for years and was very thin which can cause women to look older due to lack of nutrients and her skin looks quite sun damaged because in her day people didn’t want about sun protection and baked themselves with sun tan lotion. I also think the style didn’t help much, her hair here is what we are used to seeing grandma’s with these days not 50 year old women
