Man, so tired of these "how to" videos that misinform people and blatantly violate electrical safety rules. You can't have a 60 amp breaker with a 50 amp plug.

I’ve had my Juice Box for a year now and I wish I had bought a different brand. The app sucks and instructions to operate the chargers Smart charging is terrible. Editing your cars info once set up does not seem possible. And my X Box app is not the same as what this video shows. Maybe a newer version,I don’t know.

Good: it does charge my 2015 Tesla Model S 85 from 16% to 80 in about 4.5hrs (240 circuit, 40A with a 50A breaker), Tech Support easy to reach, 50/50 understanding language Bad: software crap. Software doesn't detect current battery level, so you either have to set the starting % in the apk on your phone, every time you charge your EV or accept that the error message you will get from the Juicebox is irrelevant. Fortunately the Tesla apk reported the correct information. I am totally disappointed with the software, and solely for that reason, I would never recommend this product to anyone. The information should simply report what charge was applied but to indicate the current level of the battery state and not be able to read the current state is terrible, for all the money the Juicebox Cost, Shame on ENEX

Need to say the exact name of the app to download. Having the name will tell me I have the correct app. Apps change - if my app is different, having the name will tell me that perhaps I need to listen with a grain of salt. Thanks.

BTW, you have to have a separate email address for each of the charging stations you want to install... so I have to create a new email address for the charger at my vacation home... kind of sucks that way.

This Enel X JuiceBox app is very buggy. I own two units in a group setting. For the past 13 months, I have called tech support 4 times and spent hours on the phones to solve the most basic function which is charging your EV. The app consistently updated with bugs and stopped you from charging. DONOT buy anything from this company. I just sold my units on ebay.

Hello, I have this same charger and it only charges a maximum of 16A. It is possible that it is due to the breaker, since I put a 50 amp one, I would have to raise it to 60 so that it takes the maximum possible charge???

Thank you! I used screwdriver with bit provided to screw in the screws on the bottom by hand. Didn't want to get too close to the red wire with the drill speed. Have 30A outlet and installed the 6-50 ChargePoint. Selected 30A on the app, b/c it only gives option for 40 or 50 for the plug-in. My Niro EV is charging as we speak. It worked!

If you ever wonder why your wifi has stopped working and your charger is now showing a solid white light... goto the charger, on the left side of the charger there is a wifi icon with a light. If this light is lit up, I don't care what color, you probably have an issue with wifi in your house. If there is NO LIGHT, your wifi is broken in the unit and you can do as many kart wheels you want, you will never connect to the unit. It requires service. Or in my case... a new unit based on warranty. Hope this helps someone.

my CP Flex is connected to a 50A breaker. The wiring can even handle more than that, the App showed a 50A hardwaired configuration but the max output current I could select was up to 32A. So even if you hardwiure the max output will be 32 A as chargepoint limits the max to 40A by default. The only way you will be able to get 40A out of the unit is to call Chargepoint and communicate the details about your home installatin. Only tell them that you have a hardwired configuration if a licensed electricien did the installation as the wiring must be properly sized for currents above 50A. Confirm the breaker setting (double breaker in power panel with a sticker indicating it is for the Charge point charger.). The CP agent will then update their system and the wall charger breaker size to 50A and set the max current to 40A. I called them at 1 AM and they assisted me doing this. they uploaded the new setting to the wall unit and then asked me to turn off the breaker wait 30 sec and turn it back on. The unit light came up yellow blinking and after 1 min it went green. I plugged it into my car and the current became 40A and the charging power went up to 9510W. before it was going up to 7550W only. Note that not many cars have an inverter that requests more than 7000W. Only high end cars with DC chargers, etc have higher AC current capabilities due to a limitation in their inverters capabilities. And lastly they do have 24 hour customer technical assistance for this kind of easy to solve setup question. I verified it at 1 AM on Sunday. You don't have to junk the original power cable when doing hardwired connections. You can save it witrh the box so that if you later decide to sell it then the new buyer would have that option. Otherwise check your local trash company recycle program.

The location that u selected is exactly why GFCI is a requirement
@jamesdaniel947
@jamesdaniel947 8 ай бұрын
The requirement for a code mandated (in KY) GFCI breaker, is exactly why this unit will not work properly at any of the available amps, except the lowest (maybe). ChargePoint recommends a hardwire installation in that case, but goes further, "We do not recommend using a GFCI breaker as the Home Flex already has integrated charging circuit interrupting device (CCID) protection. Using a GFCI breaker in the panel, especially with a plug-in installation, can cause nuisance breaker tripping in certain circumstances and interrupt charging." What is a mother to do?

Hi - I have a 100Apanel in the basement, I have one 240V free outlet in my kitchen for electric stove, which is not used anymore because we converted the Electric stove to a Gas stove. Can I use the 240V electric stove port (14-50) by moving to Garage and if yes, how much max amps do I need to set the Chargepoint unit to? 32A ? Pls advise and thanks in Advance

Just installed my second plug in Juicebox 40. This one is on the outside of my garage. I ran about 40 feet of 3/4 inch EMT conduits across the back of my garage and down the side to the front corner where a whatever cover outlet was installed. I pulled 3 six gauge conductor and common wires and 1 10:gauge f round wire. The Klein pulling foam was indispensable.

Remember the newest rules about Level 2 chargers installed in a garage, especially if you plan to sometimes run the cable outside. The rule is that you need to use a GFI breaker in your panel. It looks like he has installed only a regular breaker.
